yah. i started new 1s but nothing yet. 35 and not 1 yet. gotta be by tomorrow. the store bought 1s sprouted quickly in peat so im worried. i just keep waiting. by now my clone plant is nearly large enough to give me the amount i need. i should have started this slightly earlier.
Well, one of my new Brainstorm seeds is sprouting out of the coco coir. I'm excited. I'm starting out with just two to see how it goes. If I get brave and do enough research, maybe I'll try some of the northern lights, but not right away, have to figure out where I went wrong with the lowryder's first. :peace:

yeh!! i have 1 sprout so far. as soon as the first 1 shows up i always rewater the pucks to soften them and the rest seem to come up right away. hopefully in 12 hours ill have tons of them. then the pain comes. i still havnt figured out what to do about getting 30+ plants sexed. gonna be tricky and im trying to do as little work as possible. might even try growing them in 2 inch cubes. if a huge plant can grow in a 4 inch then i figure its worth a try. maybe.
ray- chances are you just need to change your res. after 8 days it will need it. chances are thats all it is.

Hey guys i was just wondering when the bottom fan leaves start to die its alright to clip them off right? and do you have to do it on an angle or anything special? And what is an ideal temperature for lowryder to grow in?

geezy- normally i would cut them off but with lowryder that near dead leaf still provides a budding spot for the plant. which it wont have much. if light is not being blocked by it id wait till its completely dead before removing. i found i lost alot on the plant that i trimmed alot. dont trim them at all really if you can help it. i know i wont on these next 1s. still only 1 sprout.
wannabee- i see what youre saying with planting a couple at a time. i kinda go the other way. lol. if you plant them all chances are you are guaranteed a yield that will more than pay for itself. but also if you get 2 nice plants from those they cojuld yield well also. guess it depends on the amount of seeds available. maybe i wouldnt have this opinion if i didnt get so many seeds. too many. lol. but if you get a female id keep it as a mother if it looks nice. and then clone. def the best way

well, if i had like a thousand seeds like you, i'd definitely try growing more lol. the brainstorms are feminized ones, don't want to deal with the males this time. i'm still waiting for one of the two to sprout out of the coco coir. keeping my fingers crossed.:peace:

thanks, i'm definitely gonna try cloning if i can get the brainstorms to that point. i'm just wondering if i can pull it off based on my last results, lol. i have a new 5 gallon bucket dwc i can try too, but i'm a little gun shy, if you know what i mean.

Thanks 1982 for all the help. I have yet another question. I have a closet in which i am running 2x4ft 4 bulb flouros now on the bottom i have 4 week old akxlowryder2. I have 4 on 1 of these lights and all 4 look slightly different. I got female seeds from dope-seeds and i have a runt but shes been getting slightly bigger, i have 2 bushy 6-7 inches tall and a 9 inch tall but not thick or bushy at all. I was wondering if it made a difference if i angled the floro so that the right side is lower closer to the runt and the smaller ones and if i had the left side higher for the taller one. I just wasnt sure if the fixture had to be perfectly straight or if it mattered.

well the sprouts are spreading like rabbits. have prob 10 now. im reusing some rockwool cube from the last grow to save time and cost. and they say they can be reused several times. we'll see i guess. but it appears the same as new. gonna set up the whole new res system later when nobodies home. a couple sprouts have stretched a little as im 12 hours behind. but i have them planted in wool and in a res now. and under the lights. other sprouts are coming through slowly. by tonight should have lots. now i have 4 ress with 2 pumps. it looks nice and ill post pics once i make a shelf support for the top shelf. its flexing a bit. but not too bad. i have hours of work today to get done. but with the amount of seeds i have im gonna keep germing them constantly and replacing females all the time. ican just angle the lights and its easier this way. just pick them when each is ready. anyother way is too difficult with lr.

also picked the rest of the small buds from the lowryder. maybe 2 ounces most out of it. so 4 ounces for that grow. its enough to last till i perfect this stuff. hopefully much more this time. i havnt trimmed the new stuff yet but when i do ill post pics of what i have left dried and the new buds. i cant believe how many seeds there is. i cured 2 ounces or so in a plastic container and after it dried theres prob 500 perfect seeds in the bottom not to mention the seeds on the buds. actually ill just post pics now.1 sec. lol damn im smoking too much. i guess only about a small ounce left of the cured stuff. heres the basically dried just picked plants. theres actually quite a bit in there. and some seed pics and bud pics. too many seeds.

geezy-def angle the light closer. thats whats sweet about those fixtures. its nothing at all to do it. i had to angle mine because all the plants grew differently. the reason you get the occasional runt and different growth is because this strain and more so yours being newer. they sell the seeds from the 7th gen plants i think they said. if you buy northern lights all seeds prob grow like clones cause they have taken the best plants for the last 10 years and bred them prob a 100 times. so its perfected. every year lowryder and crosses will get more stable. chances are my seeds could be better the second time as i planted only seeds from the nicest plant. and the tall 1 you talk about thats not that bushy happened to me to. it will yield ok but the short bushy 1s at the start tend to be the best overall. theyll get really resinous and thicken out nicely. the tall plant you talk of will grow mostly small buds at the top and def not all the way down the branches. i would say that 14 grams each plant averaged out at the end. some more some less. but 14 as an average would be easy. i thought mine were ruined but they still were ok in terms of yield i guess. and if you nute them as much as possible without going too far and keep everything in check i think 20 grams a plant would be easy. but thats just a thought as i did not get that. but id bet this time i can. going to throw out the runts everytime now. if you have the seeds i suggest starting a new 1 to replace it and not wasting space on it. my runt gave me about 5 grams. if i would have cut my losses and got a good plant in there and waited the extra 2 weeks to harvest that 1 plant i would have got 14 grams 2 weeks later instead of 5 then. if you do a seed run you will have enough to grow forever. id say go for it or at least do 2 nice plants seeded. im glad i did even though it sucks picking them out. post some pics if you can. i heard that strain is great and it seems like your grow is going the same as mine was so dont mess it up like i did. lol.

Alright good stuff i angled the light and that tall one just keeps getting taller, i have a 9 inch bushy as shit, a 8 in bushy, and a 6 inch bushy, also have 1 still vegging its 5 inches and bushy but about 10 of the leaves are starting to crisp and dry up, i have begun just pumping it with water to see if that will help it out. Also i have been vegging 2xSnow Ryders as well, 1 turned out to be male and 1 female i yoinked the male and my friend gave me another one to see how it would turn out. I was looking into seeds and was wondering about ChemDog there is a 9 pack of fems from dopeseeds 3xaklow 3xbigbud/indostan.lowryder and 3xlowryderxchemdog/kush i was wondering if these are good strains or what i should go with next

I got some new pics of the next plant I'm working with. Nice and frosty with some purple coming on. I didn't write down when I put this one in but has probably a few more weeks. Hey wannabe I see you posted on NG's thread (I subscribe to it). This may sound silly but air pumps pump air and water pumps pump water. I have a feeling that is not really what you meant though. Foil tape can be gotten at Home D, Lowes, Walmart or hardware store. But don't get the cheap stuff. It's harder to work with. Nashua brand is good.

thanks hashlover, i think i understand the difference. the water pump is the pump on the inside of the res and the air pumps are those fish tank pumps to run the air stones. kind of dumb question, i guess. wondered what dept. at the foil tape is in at home depot because i hate asking for help in those stores and i've never seen it. nice looking plants, love that purple color.

can anyone tell me about trimming autoflowers? can you just pick off the leaves or do you do it from the stem? do you need to use special clippers or what and should the leaf be 100% dead and crumbled before trimming it off? and help would be great as i want them to do their best.

Hey there, all. I just have yet another question, and wonder if someone can help. I have a Milwaukee Ph meter and a TDS EZ ppm meter. I bought these to test the water in the hydro systems but I want to check the ph and ppm of my soil now too. Can you use the same meters to test soil? I can test the ppm of the water when I add nutes and I've read that you can test the ppm of the run off, but not sure if I would need to do this. Does anyone have insight into this? Thanks.

I have one Brainstorm feminized plant that isn't doing too bad for now, hope to keep it that way. Well, hope everyone is doing well, take care and happy growing?

Thanks man, Now the outer rims of the leaves are turning purple too. I'll post more pics soon. The foil tape is in with the duct work for heat and air. Some is like we use for our venting. I won't mention the pump question. There are a couple different kinds of foil tape too. Don't be afraid to open the pack to check it out. Some is kinda extra thick with a rubbery backing. You don't want that for general use even though it is good stuff. I use it to tape down airlines inside the buckets on the bottom. That stuff sticks like hell even under water. The thinner is much cheaper and better for most light blocking. I wrap some of my buckets with it. And if you tear pieces off instead of cutting them it is easier to separate the backing from the tape.
