Lowryder 2 - Things You Might Not Know

no problem happy to help, like i said with any auto strain i would make your first run a seed run so you have more seeds for future crops, that being said i'm sure 2 liter bottles would work well for a seed run and still net ya 100's of seeds per plant, just not the bud you would get in a slightly bigger pot.

Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking for my first grow that I should do a seed run and get alot of seedsso I dont have to keep ordering more, So password do you really think it can be done if I could grow a few LOWRYDERS in the 2 liter bottles and it would still produce lots of seeds Im curious but do you think then after i have harvested (said lots of seeds) the gentics in the new seeds would have a tendecy to stunt its growth and then grow a bit smaller cuase of the 2liter bottle.

Id like try my lowryders in a 2 litre coke bottle also can some one shine some info on just startin question im curious about that.
2 liters is a good size to grow it, unless you purposely want to keep the plants really small. That was one thing that password didn't mention is that the auto strains are very root dependent and will be quite stunted by restricted roots. More than any other strain I've seen, the auto's I have worked with height and yield are proportional to the size pot or decent soil they have to go in. In a 4" square pot, plants may only get 10" tall, whereas the same seed stock will go 30" in a 3-5 gal bucket.

Thanks for giving the info to the community in such a well written manner password. Personally, I have gotten over the auto fascination to some extent, but it does serve a purpose for many people and it is good quality smoke.

Hey password, do you know if random, inconsistant light cycles would hurt the plant? For example, if I give it between 4-12 hrs darkness on random days and blast it with light for 24 hrs the next, will it have any affect if on average it still gets the same amount of light as a 18/6 cycle? Im asking b/c it gets too hot in my tent if the doors closed (until I get a new cent. fan) and ive gotta be home for the door to be open. Thanks.

I did a seed run with Diesel Ryder in a bubbleponic setup. They topped out at 26 inches each under a 400 watt. I vegged them 16 hours and flowered them at 12\12.
I got at least and ounce of dry from each plant.
Good strong flavorful smoke.
I also got 500 seeds from one plant and 1000 from the other. It took 11 to 12 weeks to get mature seed. I would say 90 plus percent of the seeds were mature.
As mentioned drying is critical for germination. Also the auto flower seeds have a very hard outer shell. It helps to soak them for 24 and gently crack them a little to aid germination.
Glad you had a good seed run.
The auto's are a great plant to grow. I think that is all I will grow from now on.

Im curious, when you say It took 11 to 12 weeks to get mature seed. Does that mean after havesting the plant on the 8th week from seed then 2 to 3 weeks of letting the seeds cure and dry or does that mean it takes 3 months to get fully dried mature seeds.

Thanks

^^^^^Can anyone confirm the question that i asked.

itd be harvest at 11 or 12 weeks so the seeds fully mature on the plant then leave them to dry for a few weeks before using them.

good thread P@ssw0rd
wouldnt mind trying some autos

Yeah the buds mature faster then the seeds with autos, i know i mentioned before that it takes a couple extra weeks to fully mature the beans. Whay would you swith them to 12/12??? Autos can't possibly reach there full potential on that schedule but i'm sure it would work for a seed run or if other non AF plants were sharing the space. Been there before.

Just checked my Lowlife gear, got 7 seedlings from a 10 pack and just identified 4 definite and one likely male aswell as 1 confirmed female, i will certainly have many males to chose from for my seed run and suprisingly the confirmed female is also one of the largest plants so i have great hopes for this strain. Just Hopeing for a second female either from my 1 unidentified plant or the suspected male however neither would make a suitable mate so if a second female does show i will run it sperately to keep it seedless and have some sensi to test. ALWAYS breed using your "best" female.

The reason i wouldn't use the hoped second female to breed along with the confirmed female is that by showing sex sooner aswell as being bigger it would seem to have the best genes to pass on to the beans. And i would certainly rather be working with 500 great seeds then 1000 mixed seeds. Always breed for quality over quantity.

quick question for which i cant find the answer! when is the earliest time that a AF male will have produced good pollen sacks? i have 1 AF great white shark and i want to plan my grow so if it is male i can cut it down without pollinating the females but having good pollen which i can store for later breeding! i cant go right into making seeds got no bud so second grow will be for seeds and if i have male pollen stored i can also just pollinate a specific bud!! what u say???
