This will be my second grow. my first had 15 odd lovely plants mainly from bag seed but a few white widows. They were lovely untill i went to flower them when all of a sudden the went all brown, dry and died. This was from a home made box out of a large wardrobe. i had to use a 250w CFL for the whole thing because the 600w HPS made the room a sauna on the first day so i took it out straight away.
Now I've binned that idea. I have a XL Budbox, 120x120x200. this is vented by 2 Ruck fans which pump air nicely, and a small desk fan clipped inside to help circulate a little more air around the plants. I have 36 6.5l pots in there, enclosed within 4 big trays to stop spillage and contain water. the pots are very deep, great for roots.
Im gonna be using a perlite soil mix, with grow and bloom specific ferts.
Lights are 2 400w grolux dual spectrum lights, which are currently about 1 meter above the pots.
My plant is the lowryder 2. I have sowed 36 into rockwool cubes, 35 sprouted within 2 days.
Im about to take them from the prop and stick them under a 250cfl just to help them on their feet (or roots) before i blast HID on them.
Questions are, can i plant the rockwool cube straight into soil, or will i need to remove the seed first. Also, how far away should the HID lights be? I think i may have been over cautious due to the last one being very very hot.
Any insight to this would be great. Also has anyone else grown lowryder before and what was the outcome. Im expecting (hopefully) about an oz from each plant. I also plan to breed one with the same strain to have an endless supply of seeds to play with.
