after my first attempt went 100% male I'm back for attempt #2. You can see my first grow here: https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/126936-bud-shots.html

Anyway, I'm back with the last of my seeds from Attitude seed Co. I rigged an inline fan to push air out my window to help keep temps and smell down. Two 65w flouros can act like a mini heater, it would up the temps in my room by 5 degrees. This setup seems much better and the temps are consistently 80-84 degrees.
I'm using a peat/verm/perlite/worm castings mix
two 65w flouros with a 42w "warm" when the seedlings mature around two weeks. That makes for 11,000 lumens in my 1 square foot of growing area.
ph is 7 on the dot
Hopefully I get some better luck this time around

Here's some stuff I smoked a few weeks back. Pure sativa. Lovely...

and brownie mix using the oil/water extraction method. Highly recommended! I was out of my mind :bigjoint:

I'll try to keep this thing updated as these little buggers grow like weeds!

yea that sucked. I feel that it had something to do with humidity and temps. I think my humidity is too low. But you would think it would have just gone hermie at least. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.

Things moving along nicely. Day 11 since germination. Should be able to sex around day 14-17 and I'm going to turn the light on then. Tested my pH and it's 7.4. Next time I water I'm going to add a little vinegar.

two weeks exactly. installed another fan but this is as low as the temps get mid-day. Humidity is probably pretty low too with the rate of air exchange. Hopefully it won't prove to be an issue. Watered today with bloom nutrients as they are probably 3-5 days from starting the fruiting stage and I want to make sure there is ample N available. I've read this can help with male/female ratios. Cross you fingers for no y chromosomes.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!! So psyched! Day 15
2 girls, third plant still unconfirmed.

You can see how small they still are. They will start to shoot up now if the females act anything like the males.

Oh, and comments are welcome. I know there are people out there looking at growing this micro strain...

just confirmed. Three females! man I'm glad I collected some pollen. I've just been keeping it in a sealed container though at room temp. Hopefully that's okay.
much better luck this time around!
My vent is working great. Temps are now around 78-80 and no smell whatsoever...

Day 19
Plants are still pretty short but are starting to stretch a bit. secondary nodes are developing hairs. When should I pollinate?

Also some pretty good outdoor i ran into. a little fluffy but it's a nice well-rounded smoke. Definitely gets me feeling creative.

Alright, another update. Went awhile without watering and I think that affected the health of my plants. I really don't want to get root bound too soon so I'm trying to water sparingly. I'm using a synthetic soil so I think they have already depleted the N. I just watered them with a bloom booster formula 10-30-20. I might stay on that as many of the lower leaves are yellowing and dying however, new growth seems to be coming along. I'm not sure if it's just the phenotype of the Lowryder plant. I always see pictures where they have yellowing leaves. One plant seems to be a runt and is really not doing well. I trimmed off most of her fan leaves.

Also pollinated today to get a seed harvest. I would like to get some sinsi and some seeds though so i did some selected sites. I will probably need to do some more. I want to get a enough to last me awhile. Hopefully I can get the nutrient thing under control. The largest plant seems to be fairing well, although it's turning a lighter green which again suggests and N deficiency to me. If anyone has any other thoughts let me know

Day 29. I've been watering now every three days with fert every other watering. I'm still seeing yellowing of the older leaves, although the new growth seems healthy. Buds are starting to frost up! Anyway, pics:

December 26th. Older growth is still dying. I've been adjusting my pH with vinegar. Could this have anything to do with it? I'm a little worried about flavor effects for sure. They have a musky smell right now. I really like that sweet pine scent which I'm told LR is known for...anyway, a couple of shots. Can't really figure out what I'm doing wrong, however, the plants seem to be doing okay. Buds seem to be fattening. It's getting into the low 60's at night. That could be the reason for the color change in the leaves. Hopefully not nute burn. But again, given the light color of the plants I can't see how they would be over fertilized...

Am I doing something wrong? Haha..I thought I would have a little more discussion in this thread, but I suppose a journal can be a lonely thing. Anyway, for those of you watching...some more pics. Day 37. Pistols are turning; about 15% are now amber. I need to pic up a scope. I want to harvest early enough that these little guys give me a nice head-rush high. Not into the couch lock. They seem to be finishing quicker than I anticipated. My pH was around 7.6 last time I checked so I added H20 with acetic acid, jack's blossom booster and some epsom salt. I can't figure out what's going on but the big fan leaves are dying like crazy. Just about all gone. Bummer because the buds are fatter than I anticipated them being. I wonder what the main cola's would look like with the fan leaves producing energy...
Smell is starting to really pick up. Even with the vent they are stinking up my room a bit. It's cool as a I have a Rx card for Mary Jane. I don't like having the smell...it mixes with other stuff in the house and just smells bizarre.
However, running my fingers along the buds leaves an intense citrus smell on my fingers. Very exciting. Oh, and it looks like I'm having some luck with the pollination. I'm now out of pollen so hopefully I get at least 10 seeds. I see a few swollen seeds developing. Hopefully they will fully mature so I can try to do this again one day.
Enjoy...

Day 38...I keep taking pictures for no good reason. But the plant is really maturing fast. I've cut down to 14/10 light schedule. Night temps are getting down to 63-65 F range. I wonder how much longer they have to go?

scratch that...temps are getting more like 57F at night...damn, it's because of the vent outside letting cold air back in.

Yo, I cut down because I want them to finish a little faster. I'm not sure if that's going to do anything though. Should I switch back? They have lost almost all their fan leaves (or are about to) and they are starting to stink properly and I love it but I need to get a better setup. I'm hooked on the home grow for personal use, but I'm going to wait to move to my new place.
Anyway, more shots. I want that up headrush high...I'm tempted to pull these guys, or at least one way early.
Let me know your thoughts...
Thanks for the replies
