Hey everybody, i've been using the forums to get some information for my grow so i felt i would share my grow experience so far. I am a first time grower working on minimum funding for this. Heres the set up:
-24" Computer Tower w/ 3 fans (2 In,1 Out)
-Two Lowrider #2 plants
-Two daylight CFL's running 20/4hrs
-Hydroton growing medium
-Aerating the water
-Nutrients
---Botanicare CNS17 (cheaper chemicals)
---Botanicare Liquid Karma
-Keeping pH around 5.5

I will be in my third week starting Sunday (the plant picture is the 3rd day since planting)

Here are the pics for the 2nd week. One plant is growing like a weed:mrgreen:, the other seems to be about 4 days behind. I'm worried that the bigger one doesn't have a strong enough stem because it looks like the stem split vertically about 4mm. It stand up fine for now though.

I was wondering:
-I was reading about the short lifecycle of lowrider #2. If I get to crop will it die afterwards?
-Once it really starts growing, should i clip it back to keep it low or should i let it grow into that chicken wire?

Thanks

@Mr. Sativa- I'm not quite sure yet, I did most of my research for this case before I had picked a strain. I had planned on switching to soft white CFL's for flowering but since Lowrider #2 is different in how it skips the vegetative stage and can take 24hrs of light, I may stay with my daylight CFL's

Meant to post this on Monday but I was boarding. In the third week now, plants looking good, one is growing really low to the ground which is perfect for my setup. the other (bigger) one's stem snapped a little bit but i think it will be beneficial because now its lower to the ground and is still growing great.

Your setup looks good. What temp/humidity are you keeping it at?
hey cam, your girls are looking great i would try to put something with the one with the broken stem to help hold her up straight! and the one on the right is LOW ha  that is crazy but like you said perfect for your setup cause of height issues! i usually keep my temps. between 73-83ish and humidity never gets over 50% or under 35%!:leaf::leaf::leaf: Keep up the good work man and by the way what nutrient strength are you at and can we get some pics of the roots

Im gonna make some modifications to my case tomorrow to keep temps down. I'm gonna put a glass or plastic covering over the lights and install two more fans for the light's intake and exhaust. I'll post pics of it tomorrow as well as root pics. About the nutrient strength, the low one was having some problems and the bigger one was starting to take on the same symptoms. The leaves were turning spotted yellow/brown (ill post pics tell me what you think is wrong). I think it was pH fluctuation because for some reason my tap water was showing a pH reading of 7 or 8 (wtf?). Anyways, I had to flush them so im letting them go the rest of the week with only liquid karma. I havent been watching the humidity at all so im about to pick up a thermometer/humidity gauge. How do you lower/raise humidity if it gets too high/low?

Alright, heres the update for the week, the tall ones a female and the short ones a male. I removed it from the case so it doesn't pollinate the female and we're gonna grow it for seeds. Im gonna pick up the flowering nutrients this weekend along with some Vitamin D for plucking leaves and a humidity meter/thermometer. I installed the new fans and will be putting a light cover chamber later. I guess I will also start growing a second plant(hopefully female) to offset my yield times.

Photos:
1. The two new fans
2. The roots for the female
3. The female (look at those stigmas)
4. The male (dammit)
