Lowes mortar tray E&F probs

I wanted to ask if anyone else that has attempted to use any non-hydro trays (like the ones sold to mix mortar in at Lowes), if you have a problem with drainage and nutrient salt buildup.

I have 2 trays with 6 plants each, the E&F fittings are at one end of the tray. The plants on the E&F end of the tray are doing fantastic, the ones on the far end are incredibly burnt, I have them elevated with a 2x4 to help with drainage, but still the leaves on the non drainage end curl and die by the dozens each day.

I am about 6 weeks into bloom, with 2-4 weeks remaining.

I pumped out the reservoirs (seperate for each tray) though both trays are suffering the same probs, and filled the rez's with ph'd RO water. after cycling the water in and out very shallow to try to get the salts flushed out of the tray, the ppm of the RO water went from 006 to 320 in one rez, and 354 in the other.

anyone else running into this with E&F in DIY trays? any ideas or suggestions?

I am a few days away from dropping more money on a recirc DWC for future use.

after the RO flush, I restarted them on 500ppm. I am just trying not to lose a crop, even if it doesnt get much bigger, I am tired of burning them.

after 24 hrs, the 500ppm went up to 530ish in both rez's, so I am curious also if anyone has seen rising ppm levels 6 weeks into bloom at 500ppm... doesn't seem right to me, that the levels would rise when most people report ppm's over 1000 during this time in bloom.

will get pics up a little later on as I am not onsite atm.

I bought a roll of plastic at Lowe's. Its designed to be used in basements under the floor to keep floor out of water. 42" by 30'. May be more than you need. You do have to have good level drainage. One other thing to check, make sure your line down to the pump doesn't have any low spots in it, its always going down hill. VV
