Lowering Temperatures?

Hello everyone! I will soon be running a 206w CFL setup in an armoire cab, and I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to lower my temperatures! In my closet, with only four CFLs and a 6" oscillating fan, temperatures got as high as 104°F. I'm worried that with eight CFLs the temperatures will be ridiculous. I'll have two 2" passive intake 90° PVC bends, and one 120mm PC fan for exhaust, also hooked up to a 90° PVC bend. In addition to that, I'll have the small 6" oscillating fan circulating air within the cab.

The CFLs consist of four 6500k Daylight CFLs and four 2700k Soft White CFLs. They will be ran 20/4 from seed to harvest, always within around 3-4" of plant tops. CFLs are screwed into twin socket adaptors which are in turn screwed into socket to plug adaptors. Perhaps if I just turn the oscillation off and point the 6" floor fan at the bulbs, and angle it upward so it blows the hot air coming off the bulbs toward the exhaust it will work.

Anyways, thoughts, opinions, etc.

Thanks,
-Panda

sounds like you need a stronger fan, or change your light cycle to run at night if its cold in your area..that might help.

Unfortunately, it's around 80°F consistently throughout the day (fuck the tropical climate...) and at night only gets to 75°F.

this is like one of "those" questions lol obviously you need some more power from your fan (so getting a bigger fan)

should work!

what is with you kids these days?

use your brainnnnnnnnnn questions are cool but come on

Get two more computer fans in place of your intake holes and get rid of your 90 degree bends, they only create less air flow...Also get a higher powered exhaust fan, HOT AIR RISES!

All the airflow in the world is only going to circulate air that is already to hot for your plants. You need to add AC until you get the ambient temp down to where the temps under the lights are acceptable. When you have some cool air to circulate, THEN fans might help.

lots of things to sort that out, have you got an exhaust fan to take the hot air out ?

I'm aware that hot air rises and such, and the PVC bends are for stealth, I can't have this thing lighting up like a landing strip. I'd like to sleep at some point, and have it unmolested when I'm not home. Just a nice, plain, armoire; only thing in it is clothes and such, not a care in the world or any illegal activity going on inside of it.

How low do I need to have my AC set at? My electric bill goes up by about $100 when I have the AC on, and this is the only time of year where I can have it off and have the house be a decent temperature.

point taken..........you need an exhaust fan, and more intake then. a 4' booster fan and a length of 4' conduit.
