well when I grow I start indoors top it and in 2 weeks transplant outdoors and root the clones.. then begin to lst hardly slowed down and it doesnt matter as they have a whole grow season to grow!

i like to top first. then when i have 4 main shoots growing, i tie them back to expose the middle of the plant to create a nice bush. another thing, if your plant is healthy and vigorous before you top it, it wont really be stunted bad at all at least my plants dont stop growing for long. for the string, i would find something a little softer than the weedwacker string.

yea i was thinking the string would be to harsh ,ill have to look for something easier but how exactly would i do lst after topping since i would have 2 or 4 main tops would i just bend the tops in opposite directions , sorry this is my first time growing and just want it to be successful

the way i do it is first, top to get 4 main tops. next wait for the 4 new shoots to get a decent height and then tie each shoot back so it looks like the inside of the plant is open. the sun will get to the inside of the plant that wouldnt likely get much light and it will fill in to make a nice bush. if you want some pics or video, check out subcools threads on topping and canopy management and its the same thing he does.
