low quality seeds to better buds

Yeah, I suppose. Ours was Mexican brick weed. It is actually damn decent given
how harshly it is treated (or so it was 20 years ago ;0) from seed to brick.

Just keeping it sensimilla and drying it properly gave it a huge leg up, so that
made the question easy for me. ...but this is just my experience.

Enjoying the learning.

not ruderalis, or the stuff that grows around every farm in the midwest.
LOL I was just about to say the same thing and that should just about finish any "debate." If you give the absolute best farmer (lets just throw out someone like Seymore Buds for example, who if anybody could polish a turd to gold it would be him) a ruderalis it would still have a THC "ceiling" of 1-2%. Sure you may have buds, and sure they may be sensi, but they will not get you high. So with proper care something will no doubt be better than without, but as the more knowledgeable have acknowledged, you are limited by the genetics. Now if the "ditch weed" you find happens to be from some good mids, you could of course take care of it better, but at best it would be sensi, primo mids.

Thanks guys for all replies! 22 replies, this forum sure the best.

Actually, i was thinking buying good seeds and printed spores online but hesitating all the time. I'm afraid of if it is going to cause me trouble at customs. I know they cant simply open and check the package, but they have fckin x-rays. So i'm considering to plant cheap bag seed. Kinda sad for me.

I don't know about spores.

Buying seeds online over seas and having them sent to the US is not a problem if you use a reputable seller like attitude or...

I can only vouch for Sea of Seedsd but if you get the ultra-stealth delivered to an address you're not going to grow at, you will be golden. Go ahead and get a Visa "NetSpend" card (google it if you need to find where to get one,) it's one of the few that allows international purchases. I also started with bagseed and even my freebies from SOS killed it. I looked at it like for the price of a primo 8th I got a few more than 10 AAA seeds. Good Luck!

I decided to give an indoor grow a try on a whim. I concocted a tent with leftover reflectix fom a home improvement project and literally had one incandecent plant bulb. It sprouted and grew so I was happy. I had no idea at the time I could buy seeds online, hadn't done any internt research, etc. I bought one shitty book to learn basics, sort of and got a thirst so I started to learn. I just sprouted a seed from Attitude to be a mother while I finish off a grow of three clones taken from that original plant. Still learning but check my journal, they don't look too bad almost five weeks into flower. Still not great weed bag seed genetics and we'll see how it is once I harvest. But I am cautiously optimistic!

Check out my outdoor bagseed grow from 2010, all bagseed from mid grade commercial smoke. Wound up with some quality smoke, except for the sativa, she didn't have time to finish outdoors in NY State, she tasted lemony/piney but not very strong buzz. They grew in 5 gallon buckets outdoors, with only bone and blood meal for veg and BC Big Bud nutes for flower/bloom. Some purps, what looked like a haze strain, and the 12 foot sativa, all bagseed, if you take care of them they will produce, but GENETICS will determine whether they hermie, and what conditions they can take. It's a weed, it grows easily, just give access to sun, clean water and good soil, it's not hard MON!!
