Hey guys I have around 5 feet of height in my room. The veg area is 5x2 and the flowering area is 5x5. Lighting for veg is 4x40W fluro tubes (blue spectrum) and 1X1000W HPS (red spectrum) for flowering. What do you guys recommend for max yield?

Only 5 feet total? You have to consider a few things first

- With a 1000W HPS your stretch is going to be CRAZY - at least 3x their height in veg. So veg early, I'd start flowering before they hit ten inches
- height of the pots = approx 1 ft - height of the light itself - 8-12 inches - necessary distance to keep plants from light w/out burning - 12-18 inches
- add these up, and at a minimum you have to consider 36 inches of "dead space", which leaves only TWO FEET of actual growing space

The only way I can think of that this would be possible under 1000w would be like one-two plants, topped multiple times, in a tightly controlled scrog, vegged to under 10 inches

And if you scrog, don't even think about soil, it is almost impossible to remove the plant from the screen for a flush or other maintenance

lastly, it may be possible to flower from seed, but you just may not have the height for it

Thanks Ian! After reading your post I'm seriously considering ScrOG. In your opinion, should I top them or ScrOG? Also keep in mind that this is my first grow. Also, if i ScrOG, and I can't use soil, how should I do it? Thanks alot man really appreciate your help.
