Looking to get some good genetics

SO i now have one successful bagseed grow under my belt and am looking to buy some seeds for the first time. I grow indoors and want something with a kick and high yields. What would be a good first choice?

GrowTech

stays relevant.
I have heard a lot of good things about Drchronic.com and Nirvana.

See if you could get skywalker. Not that big of a yielder, but what it yields is amazing.

With all do respect GT.

Nirvana and doc chronic are about your worst option. Get real genetics. Do some research and you'll save yourself alot of time, money and anger.

With that said. Check out anything from Motarebel.

Stay away from Dr. Chronic for now, there's been a few complaints but it's enough to get my attention. Or at least research them before ordering and order a SMALL order first.

And speaking from personal experience don't buy from a place like Marijuana-Seeds.nl because they don't tell you who actually makes the seeds. Mostly because it's different every time. They just have a bunch of dudes growing in their garages, you have no idea of consistency or actual quality of the seeds. You might get great seeds by why pay $50 for generic seeds when you can spend the same amount and get a less expensive name brand? Something with a consistent breeding background.

The seeds I got from them were immature and small. One was even dead, very dead as in it should never have been put in the bag because it was obviously dead.

From now on I'm just buying from the seed breeders so I don't have to dick with seed banks who might have 12 month old seeds and don't stand behind their sales like Dr. Chronic.

I repectfully disagree with Kludge. I have purchased several strains from marijuana-seeds.nl and have got EXACTLY what I expected. Their genetics are not passed off as "famous breeder" genetics. The price alone should tell you that.

For an accoplished grower who has experience with various seed banks, they maybe able to tell the difference. For me, I have been growing for a few years and I cannot tell any difference. Good prices...good service...good smoke. I highly reccomend them.

When I pay 50-60 bucks for a strain that has since given me several pounds of high quality smoke, I will never complain. Could I have gotten better yields and better smoke from one of the famous breeder?...maybe but I have my doubts.

I have used the famous breeders and love the results I get but I honestly can't tell a difference. I will use the famous breeders for their "signature" plants but I will also use marijuana-seeds.nl for my basic strains. Give'em a try, I think you will be happy! Good luck :eyesmoke:

Thanks for your respectful reply Rocky ;) If you've had positive experiences with M-S.nl it's important to hear from you but the point I'm trying to make and everyone that buys from M-S.nl seems to miss is this:

It's not that you can't get good seeds from M-S.nl but that you don't know who your seeds are coming from so you can't count on consistency.

And to address one thing you said about them not claiming they have "famous maker" seeds. Yes, they do. They do it by using the brand names and exact text of the originals they are knocking off. Hell they even use the Sensi Seed's image for their Jack Herer!

To a new grower, like me, or someone that isn't aware of all the intricacies of the seed business it looks like they are selling the "real" thing. Sure the price should give you a big clue but I never pay retail for anything so am used to seeing deals. I actually ASKED them who makes their seeds but I only thought of it after I had already made a small order.

Now I've only ordered from them once so I can only speak to that but again that is my point. If you order from a place like M-S.nl where the breeders are not key then you have no quality assurance.

Many people have gotten great seeds from them, I do not dispute that fact, but the equally factual... um... fact is that I got White Widow seeds that should not have been sold (too young, should have been a give away) and that proves my point.

All I'm saying is that if you want consistency then you should buy seeds developed by a recognized breeder. If they seeds are crap then the breeder will get a bad name and go out of business but if you have no-name breeders they can just keep putting out shit seeds.

Kludge, you have very valid points. Again, this boils down to personal experience. Yours was bad while mine was very good. Thats what these forums are for and your point is just as important as mine. (not in my mind but everyone elses )

When I first ordered from marijuana-seeds.nl I had been growing bagseed and wanted to step up my gene pool without breaking the bank. I chose marijuana-seeds.nl because of the good reports on here and their price. If I was gonna get ripped off, I wanted to make sure it did not hurt to bad. I recieved some very strong plants that all germed and I was shocked at the difference in what I had been dealing with. They were the perfect match for what I wanted so I kept ordering from them and I kept recieveing very good service and very good plants.

Since that first order, I have also ordered from some of the famous breeders and I have had some disappointments. Granted, my expectations were higher do to the higher price and rep these famous guys had. In some instances, the beans I got from marijuana-seeds.nl, performed better. I attribute this to my ability (or should I say, inability) but I also atribute this to "overrated strains". It seems I always find my way back to marijuana-seeds.nl for my basics.

Living in the US limits some in what they order or even recieve. It is a buyer beware market. I have accumilated some pretty good seeds and I have started breeding these seeds in hopes that I will no longer have to worry about dealing with any seedbank. I know I will ALWAYS place small order for the latest greatest foo-foo seeds out of curiosity if nothing else.

My bottom line is...marijuana-seeds.nl has it's place as do the higher end seed banks and w can agree to disagree! +rep to you for making a strong case for your point of view without threats and cussing. (even though most will see you have no idea what you are talking about...jk)

You know I can't even say my experience was bad, it just wasn't optimal. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd say it was a 5. Not horrible but a little disappointing. I'd want to deal with a place that was an 8 star or better place.

Now I know. Now I am also confident enough to spend a few hundred dollars on a tiny bag of seeds knowing I won't kill them all.

In a month when my next crop slot opens I'm going to do some really nice ones. I'm thinking Northern Lights because it's a great base to build on and then some kind of Haze variety. I'm buying the name brand breeders like Green House, Barneys, Grey Area, DJShort, Sensi, etc. Then I'll see for myself if highly rated $250 a pack seeds are better than generic $50 a pack seeds. I'm thinking maybe Green House Seed's Super Silver Haze. Let that shit sit for 6 months curing.

Thanks for all the input guys! So kludge how can i go about getting them directly from a breeder all i have seen is seed banks online.

Many breeders like Sensi have their own websites. But when I say directly from the breeder I mean the seeds are produced by that top breeder instead of someone buying seeds from the breeder, growing their own plants, and then making and selling seeds from THOSE plants.

That's basically what happens with the cheap seed places. Some guy is just selling you seeds he's made from plants he grew from the "real" seeds.
