Heyo NC board!

I'm looking for a newbie to help out. My last project is kicking ass and taking names these days so I figure its time for someone new.

If you can't type, don't read anything, or are interested in becoming a weed baron. . . just fuck off. I'm not going to decipher messages or do all your work for you. If you'd like a consultant and have some desire to become better at your new hobby just give me a holler.

I'm going to guess. . . . 2-4 users flaming me. Its going to be more than one for sure. Maybe not with this prediction, but the haters be trollin

Good shit man, I'm not going to pass myself off as an all-powerful magical genie of a master grower. I'm a soil man. If you do hydro I'm not going to be able to help you as much, are you a soil man jimmy?

Jimmy - whats your growspace dimensions? I saw something seriously cool the other month with dwc, if you've got experience you might be able to pull it off.

Mkmkli - just toss me a message with what you're doing, I don't give a shit about rep or post count so PMs are preferred actually. Its how I do pretty much all my shit on here.

Dude, I think you have the room to make it work with a few modifications. Best flat grows I've seen get about a gram per watt, maybe 1.5 if they're in cooltubes with SOG underneath. This guy pulled off over 2 grams per watt, makes me want to move into a bigger house to build one of these.

All the knowledge I got on growing monsters is heavily soil related to be honest. Proper pruning is a must of course, light is important of course. The real key to huge plants is gigantic root systems in my opinion, I actually pulled off a much better nutrient regimen and got a smaller plant when I didn't focus on whats under the ground. Shoot me a PM if you wanna give a soil grow a shot or maybe we can figure something out. This heath guy has a pretty large hydro grow as well, search for his critical mass. Unfortunately his threads will more than likely educate you much more than I can, holler if you need anything!

But anyway, can you give me some names of soils and nutes that I could just get at a regular old farm or garden shop, that arent necessarily for bud: ie no names like monster bud juice, etc, and also the tools I need to measure ppm, and a regimin that would work for autoflowers. I would greatly appreciate it.

ppm is for hydro, not soil.

You'll want to make a mix if you want cheap. Any non-time release potting soil will be fine if you get lazy.

.3 pro-mix bx
.3 composted lawn and food scraps
.15 perlite
.15 worm castings
.10 coco fiber
1/2 cup dolomite lime per cubic foot of mix.

Thats something to get you started, how much better your soil mix gets is up to you. Subcool has a supersoil thread that gives you some ideas but that concentrate is definitely for pro's. I asked around before about soil mixes and found out its sort of like asking an old woman for their cookie recipe. She ain't sharing ;)

Floranova is an easy nute brand. Fox farms trio is really popular but a little more expensive. I'd put autoflowers under a HPS lamp 24/0. If you're really power conscious, 20/4.

Thanks alot, that was helpful, I have a mix written down now. Now the worm castings, can you buy those or do you have to get some crawlers and make them yourself?
Also Ill look it up real quick but what is the pro-mix bx, just a soil base?
And For nutes do I want to just follow manufactures instructions on "dosing"? and do I want to run nutes from seed until 2 weeks before harvest or what?
Once again thanks for the help, and sorry the sites not letting me pm :(

Worm castings are for sale at garden stores
Pro-mix bx is the most commonly sold soilless soil
Don't follow the instructions to the letter, feed a little less. Mfgs put maximum dosages on the schedule to move more product. Until 2 weeks from harvest yeah.

Hey I was looking up that promix, and I saw they have one with fungucide and another with mycorise, and I was thinking I could see benifits to both. From what I have seen mould seems to be one of the biggest biotic problems people have with their plants, but from what I know as someone who studies the biology is that mycorise can make a huge difference in a plants ability to absorb nutes and water. Whats your take on this?
