I might be biased, but I've been going to Mother Nature Hydroponics in North Kingstown since the very start. They have quality products and are very knowledgeable, despite what some people may say (stop sippin haterade). They're happy to help you out. They also have a store in Warwick. Growin Crazy is also a .great store, and they have multiple displays of equipment set up which is very helpful as you can see how to rig up your own room right before your eyes. Good prices also. Goodluck man.

Mother nature is never opened, it's not worth the time to drive there just to see they are not open, so i just go straight to Good to Grow. I Still take the extra ride to see the folks at growing crazy awsome store, just a bit of a drive for me. I really wish mother nature would close their store in warwick, I know if they did someone else who could handle a retail store would move in to the area.

Seem's like most of you guys are from the middle/southern part of the state.

I know the Hut in Smithfield has some used stuff, and that's a nice place as far as your all around needs! I recently went to Solar Seeds in Glocester for the first time. It's a hair closer and I was pressed for time so I said hell. They had a lot of nice stuff on and as well and pretty much all the same nutrients as the other stores I've visited. Not sure if it was the owner, but the guy who was there was a really mellow older gentleman. If I had a bone with me I would have broken it out. Ah maybe next time.

Just some FYI for the "hicks" like me.

I purchased a used 1000W digital ballast and straight 8 tube off Craigslist that was purchased at the HTG Supply store in Shrewsbury. The ballest fried up and I took it to them and there was a receipt number written on the box and I walked out 5 minutes latter with a brand new one. Two weeks later I plugged in the cool tube and there was a short which I'm sure is what caused the ballast to fry. The cluts that I am knocked over the tube and smashed the glass.... I took it back and asked just for the socket but they gave me a brand new straight 8 tube. They have a great website http://www.htgsupply.com/ and a HUGE store 40 min's away. best of both worlds, buy online and return to store. They provided exceptional customer service and professional business practice without blinking an eye.

I've run htg 400's amd 600's. Great value, never had an issue in the 4 yrs they were here. (2 x 400's 1 x 600) The 400's were euro's and the 600 was an easy cool. I suggest spending the couple bucks more and get the easy cool with the hinges.

I beg to differ, all do respect mike, but I go to Mother Nature all the time, and they are always open when I go there. Although, I have heard other complaints about them being cosed during posted open hours. They are very close to me and Donny is very friendly and knowledgable in the ways of growing. Its all good, stay medicated. Is there a meet and light today?

Have you tried local commercial lighting contractors or commercial demolition/salvage companies? They almost always have used high bay lights and security lights available. All my lights have been converted commercial lighting fixtures. They may not be very "pretty" but they are work horses.

I've been to MN and 9 out of ten times he's open. I think at times he's a little late and people are like WTF right at opening. I'm sure there will be people that say something like "yea well I've been there at 2 and he wasn't open" on a one man shop shit happens! get over it and go to another local shop if the need is that bad.

I've been to MN 4 times (NK), all during business hours and they were open twice. Those aren't good numbers. Last time (literally, I wont be back) was last saturday. I sat in the lot form 11 to 11:45 watcching car after car pull up and leave. If there weren't 20 of them, thre wasn't 1. In these days and times, if you are going to post hours,....KEEP THEM!. I mean,....ESPECIALLY on a saturday when many farmers do their work. Very unprofessional and I'm not wasting gas doing that shit any more.

Don't get me wrong, I think Ritchie is a real nice guy but business is business and gas is $3.50 a gallon, not to mention my time.

I haven't been to the NK store and yes Saturday would seem like a no brainier to make sure the store was covered.

The grow shop in Smithfield has a bunch of used stuff. Route 295 to Rt 44 via exit 7b just on the right after Panera Bread. Can't remember the name but its the sister shop to the one on Federal Hill/Atwells Ave. All those names sound the same to me. I think its called Nature-hydro-mother-grow-natural-earth-hut-nature. :-)

I know threads a bit old but HTG in shrewsbury iS by far hands down the best gardening store in new England. I bought tons of equipment from them and never had any issues with quality. Example of great customer service : when I started my hobby I purchased a 60$ Ph meter from HTG needless to say IT didn't last to long and fell way outta calibration. I went back to the store explained the situation and they replaced my 60$ Milwaukee meter with a 200$ Hanna multi meter at no extra cost! That meter is probably the most important tool in the grow room. Awesome service, Slim and Pennsylvania (its nicknames I call the guys who work there) are very knowledgeable and won't sell u junk u don't need. Ohh another time I bought a cheap 600 watt bulb which pulsed out in me and they replaced with a better bulb again no questions asked. In hard financial times like were in a company that showes great customer service like HTG really has been a blessing.
HYDRO EARTH in Swansea MA is also great prices are a bit higher than HTG but still competitive but the service and dedication is top notch!! Just my 0.02
Peace

I have a relationship with the folks at PowerTrip now but before that, I was an HTG guy all day long. I'll speak up if a company is doing it right, even if they are competition and HTG does it right. They have fantastic prices for great products but more importantly, they take care of their growers. Big thumbs up for HTG.

. I think its called Nature-hydro-mother-grow-natural-earth-hut-nature. :-)
Funny shit,lol

Reminder to the OP that if you need anything from PowerTrip and ur local, just holler, we'll take care of you and any other local RI'r who is also an RIU member. (wink) Just holler
