Looking For BHO Advice

So I have a half oz extraction tube and a 2 oz tube...I pack the 14 gram tube with buds packed tightly wrap 2 coffe filter and blow onto a pirex dish sitting in a pot of warm water double boiler...have the stove on 3 so water doesnt boil but is hot...I Have whipped my oil after being blown into pyrex dish and I have also done it without whipping it just let it sit on double boiler for an hour to purge off all butane...now I scrap my dish and put the oil in a candle dish that I use to.hold my oil...then set it on a candle.warmer for another hour or two sometimes longer but it gets dark the longer it sits....I usually get about 1.5 gram for a 14 gram run ...I run buds twice pull em out break em up and rerun em but trim only gets ran once....u guys got any advice to make tastier oil I was told not whipping makes it taste better but I couldnt tell.much since the run I tested the no whipping on was a plant that got chopped two weeks early....what my oil looks like after 45 min on candle warmer

that because those candle warmers get up to 250, you are de-carbing your oil my friend

think twitch is right, when i whip, i like to play with heats no higher than 150F for short shorttt periods of time..

if you only have tiny bubles escaping, i think twitch is right, you over cooked, stop, smoke it up! doe sit crackle like mad crazy??

Doesnt crackle at all and all off it melts away no.leftover residue in my titanium nail

Tiny bubbles are last of butane I take it off when no bubbles are present and thats after about 45 min on candle warmer

this is the 30 min shot correct? - those are butane bubbles

and your first picture is 45 min shot? - very tiny bubbles? decarboxylation..

tiny bubbles escaping are not butane..

if it aint crackling on nail, id stop, you are past done..

Does whipping take from taste?

whipping, heat, agitation, vacuum, solvent, they all play with taste my friend..

back to back comparisons of a whipped batch and winterized batch:

winterized was smoother, thats pretty much it..

the amount of time you put your product under work(heat,whip etc. ) will at the least kill terps,. so you need to make this shit as fast and safely as possible, without burning it!!!!!! good luck

So my methos is ok to use just dont let it sit in candle warmer after all bho bubbles are gone ..till I can buy a cac setup

Dont you have a chamber an pump for purging? Idont touch bho unless i know its been vac pumped

Nope just candle warmer purge for an hour after ive whipped for like 15 min

if thats all you got, thats what you gots..

id place pyrex with hot water under your pyrex you are whipping in.. the hot water bath will conduct heat better than your flat surface top.


since you are working simple, do you have a drill gun laying around?

clean drill whipper would be much easier than a manual hand..

just be careful with that heat, you only want it hot enough to whip, and once your oil gets thicker, you can decide if you need to raise the heat or not to continue..

its wayyy easier to quickly warm up a pyrex once placed in a hot water bath as well..

Double boil hot bath same thing I blow straight into the hot bathed pyrex

And I only do a few oz of trim at a time so no more that a few grams of oil....and since its a smaller amount I just whip with my glass dabber scratching the oil making all bubbles pop...also does running say a 2 oz extraction tube priduce less oil then doing 4 half oz extractions

depends on column of tubes compared..

we seem to fancy 1inch-ish Inner diameter columns around here..

anything with an ID bigger has a good chance of producing less yield

anything with a smaller diameter than 1 inch will only boost your yields, but get hard to pack, unpack the smaller you go..

Alright thanks guys and I may look into winterizing with 99%iso alcohol next time I make a batch

i like using everclear
