Looking for advice on perpetual growing with a plant limit of 12(medical grow) (+rep)

ok,so im looking for advice on how to grow perpetually, meaning how would i cycle my plants from clone to flower?

i have a 12 plant limit that the state gave on the medical recc.

i would like to get a decent yield+quality

from what ive read,i can do 4 flowering,4vegging and 4 cloning?

that sounds great enough!but this is where the problem comes into play,i would like --to have mothers instead of buying clones all the time not knowing where they are coming from and if i find a nice strain i dont want to lose the availability of it.

atm i am mothering (in soil)
-DJ short blueberry,
Tahoe OG (possibly cali connect),
-Holy Grail OG (the cali connect)
and bubbalicious

my lights are 1000w(would be for flower) hps and
-a 400watt(veg) hps switchable to MH

if i left out any info feel free to ask.

well lets see are you planing on a complete soil grow? what exactly does your state consider 9 plants(mature or all together)? how often do you want to harvest(every 4 weeks every 2 weeks) perpetually?

6 mature or 12 immature (Southern California)

havent considered but 2-4 weeks sounds great.

maybe i can ask my Doctor to up the limit,if it is possible

and yeah i plan on staying soil for now.

Thats cool that you guys have a 12 plant limit in Cali. In Colorado we have a 6 plant limit, 3 of them being mature. I say fuck that law. That kind of shit shouldn't be regulated. If I want to grow a hundred plants then I fucking will. You cant really have a decent perpetual grow with only 6 flowering females, at least not one you can hope to have a decent yield with, although you might be able to pull it off if you are the only one who is smoking. But even then, for the cost of all the equipment and the electricity 6 plants is a waste.

Anyway... So if you plants take say 8 weeks to complete flowering, You could have 3 mothers vegging, and take 1 clone a week. Throw it in your cloning machine or whatever for a week till it roots, then put it strait in soil and flower it. Eventually you would harvest 1 plant a week and have a steady supply of bud coming in. Thats how I'd do it. But I guess if you want to keep things legal you would have to take 1 clone every 2 or 3 weeks. Thats kind of a waste if you ask me since your paying for the electricity to use the light, you might as well grow as many as you can under it.

Sounds like you want to keep everything legal, and that is good. What I would do if I had those plant limits is this....I would do a 2-3 plant Screen of Green for your flowering plants, but grow them to a larger size, so you still get a good amount of bud and a good canopy to absorb all the light.

With 3 plants flowering, you could keep a mother, and veg, and clone, and still get a good yield, depending on your lighting, co2, strains, etc. That is the cool thing, is that you can prune your plants and train them to grow big, but still be under your plant limits.

Hope that helps out!

well my doctor told me i can only have 6 flowering and nothing vegging..

so i cant have 6 in flower + 6 vegging,cant have 4 flower +4 veg +4 clone either =(

they say that 6 mature = 6 budding and nothing else..only 6 plants total...

Well, if that's the case, you might as well, have two seperate sections, each with 3 plants, and keep them in their rooms from start to finish, about 6 weeks apart. Then start germing seeds, as one batch finishes, and have a harvest every 6 weeks, or so.

Sucks, but doesn't sound like you'll be able to do any cloning.

what if i top some plants before flowering and clone the tops?lol (edit) would go over the limit =/

im also going to be moving soon.maybe i can move to a place with more limits,i was thinking like san diego.more closer to where i am now. dont want to be in nor cal..

i guess the best thing to do in these types of situation is have a friend or family member have the vegging at their house while u have the flower...though that is going against rule number one, which is tell no one. and prolly against other rules.and is risky to transport and possibly could damage the plants in the process..

What I meant, was that as soon as they take root, you'll be over your limit. You don't need a mother plant to take clones, I've never used one. I take my clones from my vegging plants, a few days before I move them to flowering. The bottom branches don't produce anything anyway, and make for perfect cuttings.

i updated my previous post, all i can do now is try to research a bit more and get more info on how others use their limits.

Jawbrodt! Good to see you on! Yeah, if he is at 6 plants, he could clone the tops or bottoms, and do 2 and 2 and 2 perpetually, but Jaw is right, it is gonna be tough with those limits. Seems to me like you may want to check your state laws on your medical card. Here in my state, I can have 6 flowering, and up to 18 that are under a foot tall/wide or not flowering. Maybe your county has different limits or something.

The thing you will find with marijuana is that there are many ways to succeed. Even with those plant limits, you should be able to create a grow that will kick ass!

And Jaw may have it right, grow 3 from seed/vegging, and 3 flowering. You will probably be pretty close to the right time cycle to be able to flower within a week or so of finishing your last batch.
