Given she's bipolar, and BAPD (axis II,) being involuntarily committed, yeah, secondary could be marijuana. (i.e., the bad outweighs the good for her. It happens, just like any other medication, Cannabis is NOT for everyone.)

minnesmoker, so is it that they think smoking makes her this way? I looked at it like if someone was high on meth or drunk it might be there. But she wasn't high, they found her mm card in her wallet. And I've known her (one of her anyway) for 19 years...its not the weed. But they have to fill in the blanks with something.
Its not like they found her wondering stoned with meds on her ....just her card.

There's not always a secondary. But some brain disorders (like a chemical imbalance leading to bi-polar disorders) can be very affected (either way) by cannabinoids. For some, MMJ is a life-changing saving grace. To others, it triggers psychotic episodes. I just noted the BAPD, on the off chance that she got committed, and tried to play the "oops, I was stoned" card. 19 years -- you are either an APD, have the patience of a Buddha, or she's in and out of treatment, hospitals, and jails. If she's a friend, that's an impressive amount of time to spend with someone that can be so destructive.

mental issues and cannabis do not work for everyone together i fully agree 150% with minnesmoker about chemical imbalances and marijuana, my anxiety was actually hightened when i smoked marijuanna for a 2 years i had to quit smoking or injesting because it made the issues worse
