Long Term Storage. Any benefit or harm if I....

..store my dried and cured buds in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers?

I am growing A LOT this one time and I would like to store as much of it as possible. I was thinking to pack it the same way you would store food in a sealed mylar bag with oxygen absorbers inside (these completely suck out/absorb the "air").

Food can be stored in this manner for many years, so I was thinking the same may hold true with bud as well? Would it continue to cure in an oxygen fee environment? Would it go bad? Perhaps it might even help?

Any thoughts or experience?

MAKE SURE IT IS DRY!!! Get a cheap vacuum sealer or glass jars, and if you are going to smoke it within the week then you should leave it room temp, a week to a month then put in the fridge and a month to 2 years put it sealed in the freezer. THC degrades with time and light so keep this in mind. My bro saved weed from Bonnaroo for two years unsealed and it turned to poop or brickweed. Smoke it before it goes bad.

Well, the mylar gets sealed. When you put the oxygen absorbers in the mylar prior to sealing it (with an iron), the oxygen absorber pulls the bag tightly around the contents and removes all the air. So no need for a sealer, I already have tons of mylar bags and oxygen absorbers. :)

but back to the original question ;)

from my understanding, it's not the air that depletes the thc, it's light and TIME. So the longer you keep it, the more time passes, and the more the THC is depleted. If I were you I would just make alot of "donations" to "friends." Then that way everyone can smoke some nice quality dank, instead of 2 year old ditch weed.

time doesn't really exists in airtight places.
not as we are used to it.

if your buds are dry enough and you suck all the air you leave your buds with mainly moisture.
If you freeze them up you prevent mold for quite a while.

You could do that and store them for 2 years or so, but they will need to be dried well and cured for a while. (lets say a 2 months cure)

I store my buds for around 1\2 a year now in a zip bag inside a glass jar in the freezer and their better than ever.
