lollipop during flower

I have 2 girls on day 10 in flower. I did a small lollipop 2 weeks before flower. I have a scrog net up and my canopy is set. I have a good 2 - 3 inches of lower growth that will not get much light. Pretty much wasted energy. They both started their stretch in flower. Can I still take off the lower growth without causing any major issues?

No photo available. I know what needs to be removed. Im just not sure I should be injuring the plant during its stretch by taking the lower stuff off
Ya rip all the shit off that wont produce. The bottom 1/4 and a cone up into the center. The plants dont mind. It has a killer root system and now its only gonna focus on the good parts of the plant.

I'll do it all the way up to 3 weeks in without even thinking twice. I try to get it done around 2 weeks from flip though.

If theres a branch that looks good thats over half way up it may be worth keeping around. Dont over do it or ill laugh at you for destroying the yield.

lol @Alienwidow Thanks @Aeroknow I wanted to do it before the flip but the LST worked so well I couldn't tell what was not going to make it up to the canopy before the flip. Now I can tell very well. Thanks.

No prob!
You know, unless you are growing trees, you're looking to fill the canopy. I do it around 2/2.5 weeks, because they've ALMOST grown as tall as they're gonna by then. Growing under 1k lights, i like to leave a good 16" of canopy rite at or around that 2-2.5 weeks from flip mark. I strip everything below that 16" (usually) ;-)
Don't let the debbie downers on here convince you that by doing this it will kill yield. If you do it rite, you'll get about the same yield as you would if you didn't, but without all the larf.
