bro if you honestly can show me where to buy a tent that is larger or atleast as large for that cheap I'd be amazed. I have put a lot of thought int my spaces and what not they are each optimized for growing in that space. mind you my cabs demensions are 4ft tallX 2.5 ft wide X 4.5 long. I i think you will find that to be a suitable grow space for 4 plants. also the cab they are in as stated many times before is not for full time growing just seedling production once they reach the point where they are tall enough and have enough growth i switch them into a 4 sq ft space and veg them. however in case all of you are just missing the clue here is the pics of my 3 grow spaces

EDIT: the biggest reason why I didn't go with a pre assembled package is because i built my three custom sized cabs for less than a total of 250 bucks including lights there is no way that i could get three cabs fully built with lights and fans for less or even close to that. besides pre assembled IMHO is for the guy who has no fab skills, or is too lazy to fabricate his own stuff. I take pride in being able to be self sufficient and not needing to purchase everything in order to call myself a grower. I saved tons of money by build my own set up!!!!!! the savings alone are worth the little bit of extra effort/hassle.

as far as plans for tying the plants down, probably not I have no reason to do that as im going for single cola growth for flowering there for I will not have all the messy side growth to fidget with tying down (lst) let me know if I can answer anymore question for you guys

thanks for stopping by

Hey all you riuppers,

Locdawg reporting again with another update as to what’s going on in my neck of the woods. Last time I updated I answered the few question any of the looky Lou’s asked. By the way specials thanks to all the contributing members to my thread :). And I showed my grow spaces again and gave a brief description as to how they will be used.

Well in short for this I have quite the neat/weird update to the garden.... "Did locdawg begin having problems???" No... Well yes actually I did. I think I might have made a mistake too but we'll get to that. I have chosen to pull my two one month old (from seed) plants and begin the flowering period. Here’s the kicker, their about 2 inches tall in height today was their first day on twelve-twelve. One might ask why I would do this, well its simple I grow for the good of science other than my personal medical need. I currently have posed the question to myself "How do you grow a single massive cola?"

From the research I have done it all states that if a person wants to try and grow a single cola plant to induce flowering at an unusually early stage (8in or less). I chose now because the system I developed is set up for only 30 days of veg upon that time plants will be switched to 12/12 I’m going to have four plants in my flowering cab at all times in order to have a harvest every month. With four plants and (40k lumens) my goal is to shot for 2-3 ounces every harvest. I know that it will take a long time to reach this status but that is my end goal. I have currently 3- 2 bulb Fluoro fixtures and plan on adding 3 more about 30 days into flowering which will boost my systems total lumens to roughly 40k lumens.

I plan on staging the light like that to hopefully induce a noticeable boost in auxins levels so the plant can produce more THC, and hopefully with that boost in light from roughly 20k lumens to 40k lumen's will give the cola's some bulge.

here are some pics of my set up thus far plan to have full pics of the large flowering cab with plants in it and all in another week or two... who knows maybe sooner. However until then here are some pics of flowering day one and what not oh and the bad thing that happened was I pruned one of my plants kind of as a rot prevention method slash wondered how it would take the abuse(kind of want to know how hardy this strain were wolf is) it plants got sick and had some serious droop so they began to rot from contact with surface of the grow medium so I made the executive decision to cut the bad as not the throw the good out with bad by allowing rot to continue.... in conclusion the plant is doing lovely and still trying to grow. Only time will tell if this mishap sets the growth of that plant back.

So as the title above states I'm your host Locdawg, and I'm back with another grow log update. Last time I updated you all we were sitting at flowering day 1 , well remember when i told you I would be giving updates less often as we moved on into flowering? yeah well we are sitting at day one of week two!!!! the update is as follows

1.refurbished larger grow cabinet and testing new flourescent lighting.

2. moved the two flowering plants into the larger flowering cab

3. Converted 4sq ft grow cab into a full fledged mothering/veg chamber. gonna begin loading the veg chamber with clones and seedlings.

PICS!!!

100_2153 - Copy.jpg100_2152.jpg100_2151.jpg

So that's what I have for ya'll this week. oh and I am planning on switching to organic nutes to take my grow to completely organic now that I have dropped the MG soil and grow in cocoa coir with pear lite, figured why not go all the way... plus I like the idea of never really having to buy commercial nutes, maybe start producing my own line after I play around with the science of it all who know!
I am using those 4ft shop lights I told you I was going to buy from walmart. plan to get at least another two fixtures one for top side lighting (for when the plants get older/taller) and the other for bottom side lighting(door side of the cab)
that should boost me to 32,000 lumen's or so, for the record I plan to never really flowering much more then 4 medium sized plants at a time or 8-15 single cola sea of green plants. as of now just 2 regularly grown girls no topping tying or anything except a little defoliation when needed.
Oh and I have two bulbs in the 4100k spectrum whats the word on that spectrum I've never seen that color temp before in topic on the forum? so with that I'mma leave ya'll for the evening, until next time.

hey all you RIUppers,

Locdawg here with another continuation of "locdawg medical garden grow" and today I have week 3 pics of flowering for you BTW we have bud... I say again bud has arrived. the buds showed up on day 10 flowering it is currently day 16 flowering. The plants are just under 1ft tall now and have a good little top bud with white hairs now and about 6 to 8 more small inter nodal buds below!!!! i realized that the plants were to bushy because of how short i induced flowering so i removed a few of the lower nodes to allow for the building of really good top buds(i hope) I have also heard that it is only okay to remove foliage on a plant in flowering very early(weeks 1-3) so i believe that is the last trimming i will do on these girls. I am planning on adding some hps's to my grow maybe two 150 watts that are air cooled. cant beat another 16000-32000 lumen's plus better light penetration for only about $60-125. Gotta love HTG supply probably give em a call and see if I cant convince them to toss a discount my way lol.

Anyways without further a due here is the pics I promise

beginning week 3 flowering pics strains are- Northern lights #5, werewolf (trainwreck x yumbolt x g13)

100_2167.jpg100_2170.jpg100_2172.jpg100_2166.jpg100_2169.jpg100_2165.jpg100_2171.jpg100_2173.jpg

speaking of northern lights though I have heard this is one of those short flowering strains supposedly 45-65 days. my question is how true this is, and whats the basis for this strain being able to finish so fast. lastly what do you all think I should cross this strain with to make a good yielder and fast flowerer?
thanks in advance friends :) :leaf:

here's a quick 4th of July update for you guys, that is if anyone cares lol. I have to be honest I am more doing this whole thing for myself so that i can finally follow through with a project that i start. any who here's what Locdawg's been up to.

flowering pics from last week I got a little confused on how to document flowering time. I finally did some research and that lead me to understanding that when people say flowering time they are counting time from when the bud first showed up to final day before chop down. so from here on out I will be referring to flowering days as the time the plants been under the lights since bud was first spotted. so these pics ore from flowering day 8-9 it is currently flowering day 15, I will post current pics tonight when the lights come on and my father in law goes home. My wife's parents don't know about my choice of medicine for my condition although they are aware im very sick, however they are staunch catholic's and would never approve of what is unfortunately taboo currently.

flowering day 8-12 maybe??? I lost track of when I took them fresh day 15 pics tonight though!

100_2177.jpg100_2176.jpg100_2182.jpg100_2186.jpg100_2174.jpg100_2185.jpg100_2175.jpg100_2184.jpg100_2191.jpg100_2181.jpg100_2183.jpg100_2178.jpg100_2179.jpg

and these last few pics im even more excited about, I have pruned the living shit out of this plant and when it goes into flowering like another 12-15 days it will have over 10 different tops that will all receive good light. I plan on over driving my fluro's so that I can squeeze double watts and lumens out of one light. figure out how to wire them up the other day im awaiting the delivery of my new fan system im building for my grow room. summer is getting too hot so I have to start exhuasting the heat out of my room to the outside world, and I also have to draw colder air from my basement trhough my heater vent.

here's that plant check it out.

100_2192.jpg100_2191.jpg100_2190.jpg

thats what i got for you guys so far. plants are grown with organic homemade soil and then organic teas for watering.

hey guys as promised flowering day 15 pics. my father in law finally left lol. nosy bastard tried barging into my grow room, tell me that didn't piss me off lol. any how much awaited pics here they are folks!

100_2193.jpg100_2195.jpg100_2194.jpg100_2197.jpg100_2198.jpg100_2196.jpg

im not sure if i should be worried with the bud sizes or if they are semi on track for what one should expect from 220 watts fluro's. anyone with some knowledge of growing with t5's or t8's please weigh in, im curious how im doing and what I can expect. also like i stated above I plan on rebuilding my lights for being over driven here real soon(should double my outputs, but first my upgraded air system) anyways I have them under 20,000 lumen's currently in case anyone is curious. (20K LUMEN FOR 45 BUCKS!!) cant beat that with a stick. i was looking around for some 150 hps and even those bitches were looking to run me about $100 bucks a piece shipped from HTG. They only put out 16000 lumen's per light. the over driving wont cost too much and it will double the output so i figured why not? for those who dont know (over driving a light is simply adding a 2nd ballast to each light) what it effectively does is runs double the power to each bulb as you would now have one ballast per bulb instead of one per every two bulbs. in theory its suppose to double each bulbs lumen's and wattage usage. the down side is like stated before the upperage in wattage, and the fact that "over driving" causes the bulbs to burn out at an excellerated pace. you usually would get 20k hours usage out of a bulb well now with "over driving" you get about 12 good months of usage. the plus side is better bud because of more light and also a low cost of and easy access to replacement bulbs locally thanks to shops like lowes, and home depot!!!
so in the end this is worth it to me, and as I've stated before many a times Locdawg loves to tinker so this is a double win for me!

anyways happy evening folks and happy 4th again

get you some of that reflective material, black and white polyfilm. you'll be set! im gonna have you build my next cab.

much love KidCreole!!! um to answer the question about the soil. i have them in homeade organic soil. its got pearlite, composted steer manure, worm castings, and a little dolomite lime for ph balance. the medium I chose was cocoa coir so all those soil nutes and ammendments are added to that cocoa husk. when i built the soil I did it on my porch and let the soild sun bathe for about 12hours in the sun. I hope to god I get good bud out of these lovely girls as I have been giving them all the love I know how to!

PS: roger that on the panda film or reflective material. its to be honest a bit of laziness and also lack of money that's stopped me in the past from adding that to my grow space. I have been tossing around the idea of better reflective material inside the cab(current flat white paint job only) so I feel it is soon time for that upgrade so that i can bless future grows with better light coverage.

oh and another update for all the good folks at RIU. I did in fact come home as discussed in my previous, and build that supercharged t8 light!!! one t8 light now putting out about 12,000 lumen's still over all only at the 20,000 lumen's, but its an upgrade because for another $10 bucks I can add another ballast to my other fixture and have 24,000 lumen's doubling that light fixtures output 2( thats 2 12,000 lumen t8 lights!!!!) the other reason i believe it to be an upgrade is the heat reduction, as two supercharged bulbs run less heat than 4 regular kelvin bulbs. so instead of 3 different 2 light fixtures in my cab I now have only two(one being the double ballasted bohemoth!)

overall im excited to see the fruits of my labors. anyone else have any ideas for some purely organic bud fatteners, besides molasses?

new lights setup pics!!!

100_2199.jpg100_2200.jpg

thats all i got for yall hope everyone got them lighters up!!!!

Yo riuppers,

of course Locdawg's still around, not only am I around but I have picuture "bud porn" and a smoke report... say what??? yea ya heard right a 30 day smoke report. just to test the meds and make sure they will be effective.

let us begin starting off lightly here is a pic of the vegging plants and the super topped wonder(strain is werewolf which will have 10 tops in flowering)going to 12/12 in a week and im hopeful that one will produce sweet bud. if so i will continue training my other plants that way.

heres the veg plants have a looksie

northern lights #5

100_2215.jpg100_2212.jpg100_2214.jpg

so yeah folks that's what I got for you as far as pics from flowering day 28(07-17-2011)

on to the early flowering smoke report. I took some of the "sugar leaves" off of the bud from my flowering northern lights plant. probably about .3 grams worth of leaf material full of trichomes of clear to slightly milky clarity. I quick dried them in the microwave at intervals of 10 seconds with 30 seconds "rest and separate"
method. once the leaf mater was dried and ground it up in my grinder and began to smoke it in my freshly cleaned bong. upon smoking the dried material the high came on immediately it was strong and very hyper by nature. no real body effect to speak of yet. however the head rush was intense. I feel satisfied with the plants productions thus far here's a pic of the the trichs under a 10x jewelers loop.
cant wait to give a full flush, dried, cured smoke report in a little over a month from now or so. hopefully the buds will swell immensely before chop down... but we;ll see.

best close up bud shot i could get
