Little round leaves falling off??? Is it ok?

Hey all,

Probably a dumb question, but thats why Im asking in this thread.
Is it normal for the little round leaves on your sprouts to yellow, dry up, and fall off. All of my plants have lost theirs, but the rest of the leaves looks good so I assume it is normal.

My brother in law told me that he snips the little round leaves when their sprouts so they can use their energy on leaf growth. I thought I've read before that there is nutrients and stored energy in those little round leaves and you should never cut them off....

Who is right??

I would let them die off naturally since that'll mean the plant is done with them. I don't think that the round ones are actually stripping anything from the seedling - they are just a way for the little plant to have some nutrients while it's root is spreading and it's gaining leaves.
