little plant only has 2 leaves?

my plant is small and only has 2 leaves shouldnt it grow with 4? is this normal or is there something i can do to help? first time grower

looks like it just sprouted.....thats what they look like you need to read some info

Those 2 little leaves are normal. As for your soil choice...I'm sure it was what you had on hand.

The two small leafs things are called cotyledons, they will eventually dry up and fall off. The first set of true leaves will emerge from those soon, but it will (usually) still only sprout two leaves at a time. If it sprouts more it would be a polyploid, which are pretty rare.

Yeah, that doesn't look like MJ at all to me. It looks more like a Basil seedling, but I got the winter blues so I could be wrong. Either way, GL.

Those are starter leaves. Just enough to take in a tiny bit of energy to start development of the plant. They will fall off after a few weeks. Congrats on your little seedling!
