Limited Space..Should I trim fan leaves?! pics included
So this was and still is my first grow. It's Big Buddha Cheese under 150w hps...They were grown from seed planted on June 22nd. This is week 12, day 87. Started flowering on week 5...so they have been 12/12 for 7 weeks. ph has been kept at 5-5.5 and temp always 75-80. Have given them General Hydro Maxibloom nutes 5-15-14 throughout flowering. Up top are some clones I started out on 12/12. What I'm wondering is shuld Itrim some of the fan leaves to allow more light in toward the bottom and sides? Should be around 3-4 weeks left I think. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!!! ALL COMMENTS< OPINIONS< AS SUGGESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!
ALSO any guesses on how much longer til I chop?

Sorry guys...Kinda new and thought I would ask in a few different forums. Apparantly the good people of RIU, such as you two above, do not like multiple threads on same question? Instead of being assholes you could have just answered or told me the proper way to do it. I thought everyone on here was supposed to be cool. WHAT THE FUCK?

the search works much better if you go to advanced search, and then set it to search titles only...you'll get much better results that way.

Yea bro, not many people on RIU are cool, this site has WAY more assholes and assbags than do-gooders and people who treat you like your a human being.
I primarily read on this site, but if you want advice and want to actually post..go hit up another site for growing. This site seems to have no moderators, and you can't post anything without some fuck insulting you for posting a valid question. My guess is this site has primarily users in the 15-24 age group, and they think it's entertaining to insult someone they have never met asking a question on a site. Because they have some persona to maintain on the web, or this website. That persona being "total assbag who likes to buttram his best friends 3 times a day and then take it from them afterwards".

Fan leave are like the power plant for your girls. If you are going to trim them do so sparingly. If you are worried about lower development you can always harvest in stages, harvesting the top first then Allowing the lowers to develope for a couple more weeks. Sorry about the assholes, just ignore them.

It's an internet forum. The majority of all people on these types of sites are lazy assholes who don't know shit and like to talk a big game, like you.

Why would you take a healthy leaf from a plant? It's what provides food for the plant. If you have space issues, look into canopy management and/or topping/lst.

Miserable, not whatever you spelled.

I am left in wonder at the claim that trimming Fan Leaves will increase yield, it's like saying that more power can be produced by destroying some of your solar panels or you can run faster by cutting out part of your lungs.

When I use a new nutrient or additive I test it on one clone while keeping a control clone (same strain and age) in the next position in my grow cage - all other factors the same. Purple Max (Snow Storm) is an additive that burns my leaves every time I use it, even if I mix it alone with clear water. At Least once a year I try it again to see if I can improve my results. Most Fan Leaves and some Sun Leaves will fall off when I use Purple Max, invariably the damaged plant takes weeks longer to finish, has a smaller yield, and the bud is less potent. There are other damages to the plant than the visible leaf loss, but the reduction of daily resources the Fan Leaves produce is considerable.

Fan Leaves are called Shade Leaves, and the smaller leaves Sun Leaves. The plant evolved for the two to work in concert for the greatest efficiency and effectiveness. In general:

- Fan (Shade) Leaves have more chlorophyll per gram than Sun (small) Leaves.

Just trim the main fan leaves , these are the ones opposite the branches and grow directly off the main stalk , cut about an inch from the nodes. After a few days cut the next biggest fan leaves off the branches that prohibit light , repeat as needed until harvest.

I remove leaves and stems and sometimes just leaf tips if I can. I'm not in the school that you can't cut a leaf or you harm the plant. Selective pruning for light and air movement is essential to growing healthy crops time and time again, with no insects or molds. Keep the plants clean underneath and you'll have a very healthy canopy.

Hey someone said something about harvesting top of plant then the bottom, got a question. When you harvest the top do you only cut the branches or the whole top of the main stalk?i never topped my plants so its one main stalking going up and they are at like 5 foot tall now. My first of three plants will be ready for harvest in a week or two and alt of under broth isn't ready. Thanks for answering.
