Yes, just don't expect them to grow very big. Plants feed off light, so the more wattage you can get your hands on the better.

If you're short of money you could boost the light by investing in some flourescents. For two plants you should get a minimum of 250w, even then you could always do with more. The more wattage you can get the better and bigger your buds will get.

I have a 250watt superhps light with the canopy, I have one clone about 3" tall and several just sprouting from great african seeds, I have the light about 2 foot above the plants and wondered if this was the correct height or should they be nearer the plants. I have the light on for 18 hours a day and to be honest the soil does dry out quickly. Any advice please.

Potdude, I don't know the difference between super and normal, but I would say that your light could be a little closer, say like a foot away from the tops of the plants. If the soil is drying out quickly then you probably need bigger pots. 15 litres are the best, but the bigger the better. Soil can look dry on the surface but as soon as you stick your finger in you can feel the moisture. if it's dry 3" down then this is when they need watering.

bombdiggity, yeah these should be fine. remember though that you want your flourescents about an inch away from the plant, and the hps with your wattage should be about 12". Might be hard to set up though, you'd maybe have to use the flourescents for side growth. Which is all good, you'll just have bigger buds than usual on the sides.

thanks for the quick reply, I will lower the light and see what happens, its only week 1 so looking forward to some great african smoke soon. Thanks again for the advice, also is there any practical use for the males, Ive heard about "blond hash" which comes from the males but thats all I know.
Also is it as easy as it seems, from reading up on the net, to produce resin from the female buds??

Be carefull at first. And check them often. Being so young they might not take to the light drop very good. Just use your best judgment.
