Hey guys It's my first indoor crop and I've got some autos in from fastbuds. My SLH seemed to split root and breech the coco real quick grew pretty quickly for the first few days and seems to have stopped the past few days. I've got it under my 400w veg bulb at the moment, I was just wondering if I was better to swap my bulb out to my 600w flowering bulb or just leave it be and stop been impatient and let her do her thing ? Like I said it's my first crop and my first time using autos I have previous experience with photos outdoor but never autos or indoor!

Autos are often grown under flower lighting from the start. I had issues with my FastBuds seeds. They grew for a week then stopped for almost 3 weeks before deciding to grow some more. On then off like that until I finally yanked the last of them @ 4 months...pathetic!
Based on my experience, your lights a likely just fine.... PICT0006 (1).JPG

Hummmm.......interesting topic. I am a fairly successful auto flower strain grower and have grown from several of the good names in the auto flower game. I hold the unoffical strain record for Mephisto's Sour Crack, a 3/4 pound Grape Crinkle. I have never had a seed fail to germinate and never have had a plant fail mid grow.

As part of a grow competition on another forum I went through great lengths to get my hands on some FastBuds seeds. I was very lucky to get my hands on some FB's GSC first. I had started one plant as a test plant prior to the comp start. The seed germed fine but it just didn't do a damn thing for at least 10 days. No real root growth...nothing(I grow in DWC so I see my roots from day 1). What leaves it had were half burned even as they were forming....it was just strange. I was just about to pull her and start new when she final seemed to get her legs under her and did something. Even with that said she is now 38 days old and looks like she is only 20 days old. Her leaves are very variegated to boot! I chalked it up to an odd seed and then started a FB Blackberry for the competition grow. She too germed fine. It formed a good tap root for the first few days and then just stopped. It's like she parked the bus but refused to get off....just sat there. A set of leaves would form and then they would turn dry and cripsy .....she would form a new node and repete. I pulled her at day 18-20...can't remember. There is a number of other growers that are still in the grow contest that also are commenting on very slow growth from their FastBuds plants.

Moving forward I decided to try once again and I have another Blackberry that is 2 days from sprout. We will see how she does.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm going on holiday Friday after next for a week so I'll likely just give them till then, if nothing changes I guess I'll just pull them and start from fresh when I get back.

Thanks for the response man. Well I popped a FB GG4 split rooted and I put her in 15 days and no breech so pulled it and had died. I got a little collection of autos from FB when I bought them, GSC, green crack, blackberry SLH and a tangiematic. Tangiematic didn't even split, GG4 died as soon as it was potted. The green crack split started to root then nothing I planted it and looks like she's starting to get on her feet just about to breech the soil today and was only potted 2 nights ago. GSC hasn't breeches yet that was potted at the same time as GC. And the black berry was potted yesterday and is making the most progress so far. I'll be truthful it's really put me off autos think I'll just stick to photos from now on, I'll likely give them till I go on holiday Friday after next if there still slow I'll probably pull them and start again when I'm back

You don't run a changing light schedule with auto flowers thats the whole point of them. Run 24/0 or 20/4 for the whole grow , sprout to chop.

I have a auto I put in with a flowering plant because I ran out of room. Now that plant is gone will it mess the auto up if I want to change the light back to 24 so I can put another plant in there?

Nope but maybe just be nice and work back to the full 24/0 over a few days time.

Sorry for butting guys,i noticed hotbunz talking about probs with fast buds gsc's. I had exactly same prob, they all germed properly, more or less overnight, when i put them in jiffys that was 10 days ago,so dug them up for a look see and 2 had tiny feet just like when i put em in and the other had just given up. Wondering if this is coincidence or bad genetics. all PH fine and were put under T5s for the 10 days. Only a newbie so just saying

ive also had problems with my FB GSC too man. since this post they all seem to have found there feet now barring my GSC been in for about 5 days now and still hasn't breeched thats 3 out of 6 fast buds seeds that have germinated and grew the other 3 have all died and I'm guessing thats what the GSC has done! I've done everything as i always have I'm guessing some bad seeds i can't figure anything else out why!

I have heard much of fast buds and suggest they are still unstable

more work by the breeder is required

posted as a caution

good luck
