Lightproofing a grow box fan port?

I found a thread here where someone used a PVC elbow with a fan attached to it to light proof the fan port on their grow box. I have not been able to relocate that post. Can someone please give me link to this post or explain how this is done? IF, you have done the same thing and you have pics to display, that would be great! + rep for anyone that knows which post or has pics of their own.:weed:

i know the post your talking about but idk where it is, you could also use drier vent ends, not the ones with the flaps but the ones with 90 degree ends. im going to be picking up a few of these for my tent ill post some pics when i get time to do it.

Buy 2 or 3 90's the size of eyour fan, and paint the inside flat black. then tape them together in an s pattern, or snake pattern and it will block out the light. I have 2 6" right now making an s shape, and a little light still comes through. I am going to add a third in the other direction and it will be %100 light proof then. right now it looks like a small candle is in the 6" 90. Not a big deal but if you are going to do something you might as well do it right. Right?

I'm using 120mm fans which measure about 4.7 inches across, so I guess i need 5 inch PVC elbows... I'm only concerned with the method of attaching the elbow to the fan. Although I can certainly rig this on my own, I really like the post where it was explained and pics were shown.

that's a good idea. I just want to do this cabinet right. its going to serve as a LCD TV stand and sit in the corner of my room. I'm moving back home with the mom so it needs to be perfect. I'll buy an ionizer to combat odor.

Looks like I'm too late. The only problem with light traps are that they take up space inside the grow room which was the only reason I didn't use them. The black sock idea is a good "low profile" option. I did something similar but used different material. If you're familiar with the pull down sun shades people put on their car windows for their kids, very similar to that, blocks the light but is still breathable.
