Lighting requirements for vegging...

I dont have room to grow 70 plants. I have 8 sites on each side of tent. The thinking was to do 12 and keep the best 8 then take cutting from there for the next side of the tent. Yes they are off the bottom of my plants. I just lollipoped them today and started clones. Thats why they are so big. I grow in a SCROG
Gotcha. Yeah I like the idea of improving your strain by reproducing the bomb phenotypes. Still think you should dedicate that halide to veg and use simple fluorescent for clone. Clones just need a warm humid environment with decent light. You should also consider clipping the leaves to avoid excess water loss.

Either way man props to you for doing it. Nice work

This is a small cabinet with six 23w cfls. Depending on where things are at in the grow cycle, there are 2-6 plants inside.

The middle plant in the above picture is around 10" and just about ready to go to flower. Here she is five days ago, right before being transplanted into the final flowering container.

She was started with a re-vegged clone on Jan 14 and topped once on Mar 3.

So to summarize, vegging under cfl, with a re-vegged clone and one topping, she grew to 10" and will keep growing bigger until the flip. No picture but the root system was well formed and healthy as well.

Thanks bro! I did clip leaves. that pic is right before doing so. I can fit 4 65w cfls. The humidity should stay higher with CFL over Metal halide is what I am really wondering. I would think yes but want to make sure. I have another shelf that swaps out of the cabinet with 6 6" net pots incase I need to veg in there until the main tent is done flowering. What I need is another 4x8 tent but then thats just overkill. I have to give excess away as it is. It has just become a very enjoyable hobby as well!

I am trying to get it in the rythem to where I can harvest once a month with 2 4x4 areas and the clone cabinet. I have a feeling I am going to need one more cabinet. When the clones are done rooting my others will have just gone in flower a week earlier. There wont be space for them in the main tent. I should have planned better
This is how I clone

Nice! I vegged the one side for about 8 weeks from seed to fill out my SCROG. I am thinking I should prob flip the other side soon as I just topped but dont plan on a scrog because they are different strains and not all have shown their sex yet. Since I veg so long I am able to see preflowers. Yes I know they are controversial. I think I may do the CFL for the clone but leave the MH in there for when I switch to veg.

KISS. I was doing it that way and had much success but I just got a bit bored and wanted something to do so I hacked the corner cabinet. How big of a room do you work out of?

That does help . Wish I could show you the whole facility. That's just one corner of one room. Time to move to cali my brother. ;)
I have been talking about it. I have somethings to settle and a house to sell before it happens. A buddy of mine lives in the san fran area. he got me interested in this about 15 years ago but just really got serious last year. I started because Between my self and my dad we would spend close to a grand a month. SMH

In California you can get a caretakers license and grow 6 plants per patient, up to 4.

So technically you can grow up to 24 plants here. If you got serious, 24 plants could yield (realistically) 12 pounds per 3 months

Probably more than you could ever smoke. You'd probably want to consider giving your extras to a dispensary for a modest cost of production.

I would be ecstatic to just cover the cost of nutes and such! I know I will eventually get out there. I was going to ask you if it was ebb and flow but its a bit different than what I have seen. I see the channed of water flowing in between the bins. Looks pretty cool!

Oh those are 4x4 tables. You can get them at any hydroponics store for about 100 bucks. It's like a huge tray with a hole at the end so you can water everything and collect runoff in one place.
nice, how tall are they and can they be used to fill up to the top or just good for a few inches?

The tray itself is only like 5-6 inches deep. You can put it on any type of stand though you can buy metal frames that are about 2 feet tall. You can even lay bricks down with wood beams and make it rest on the ground. As long as you make they back higher so it has a slant to drain.

I suppose you could fill them with water but I don't think they're made for that. I've only used them to drain.

Also note I use cubes to grow in, completely hydroponic. If you're using soil or heavy pots, the tray wouldn't be good. The weight may break it.
