lighting question

I understand that in the flowering stage the lighting has to be consistant 12/12 but what about during the veg stage, if I give them 24 hours a few days and then 18 hours of light a few days does it matter??? will it have cause hermies?? I figured when weed grows wild although yes we have day and night it isnt always consitantly sunny, it can rain or just be cloudy etc.... thus changing the amount of light received from day to day I dont plan to do this just something I am curious about

Lots of tests have been done on this issue. Most growers use 18/6 during veg. I read a thread on another cannabis site where everyone was experimenting with lights on, lights off times. The consensus was that the best for vegging is 20/4. I tried it with my last grow that I just harvested. Sure enough, the yield improved and the node spacing was much better too. Nice tight, big colas at the end.

I would just stay consistant with the lighting if I were you. Try 20/4 all the way through vegging and see what you think. :)

You shouldnt really compare indoor growing with mother nature. This is because basically one of the on;y advantages to indoor growing other than security issues is the fact that you are consitant with most everthing and your not stressing the plants. I know that in certain situations stressing is good but dont be fooled and think that all stress to your plant is good.

I like it use 24/0 because that meens that the plants don't rest and keep growing and it takes less time in veg
