You are asking, so I think you already know the answer.... Here it is for you: NO !!!..................

You can not have too many CFL’s/Fluorescents …

If I said: “Every 20 watt 6500 K CFL you add will give you another bud [hence another bowl load]”…. How many would you add?

Why is everyone scared to use HPS lighting? Yeah I understand the budget is a factor but as with most things...what you put in is what you get out. Even home depot sells HPS lighting and are very affordable now. CFLs and flouros are good for veg but if you want good yield you gotta go with HPS. They have 150s, 250s all the way up to 1000 watts. Do it once...do it right and you won't regret it!

Depends, are you running air conditioner already? If not then yeah the 150w isn't bad option and is ok price, but if you are already running a/c in that room or plan to eventually, 400ws are only 120ish$ for cheaper 3 year warrantied setups and you will get that much more bud potential. I've seen some 150w grows though here this thread linked is 150w hps club, I had decided to purchase based on the growers there, but eventually went with 400w and use the 150w as supplemental.

Can also just get dimmable 400w, and power it down to 50, or 75%.

edit:

i see your using t8 already ect, the hps should be good addition and not increase ambient temps too much compared to higher wattages, gl.

A hood will increase your light's useable grow area. You may not need a cooled hood if your grow space is large enough & cool enough. If you're growing in a 2x2 tent in your attic then you might. I grow in my basement with just a gull wing. Even so, you'll want to pick up a couple of fans to move the air around. Air movement will keep your plants happy and will also strengthen their stems.
