Lighting for grow box

Hey all,

I'm in the process of building a grow box... The box is 2feet x 4feet x 8feet..

I'm wondering if a 1000watt HPS is overkill and if there are any risks in running a 1000watt HPS and the electricity company...
Keep in mind im doing this in a house.

I was going to do 600watts but I have a great offer to buy a 1000watt HPS ballast and blub for $120 used.

Hope to get some input :)

a 1000w might be over kill and difficult to cool
im in a 2x3x6 box and was told a 600w would be overkill. i went with it anyway but had to spend quite a bit on ventilation

1000 is way overkill.

600's cool, but why don't you make a bigger box?

I've decided to skip out on the 1000watt system and go with a 600watt instead.

I would love to have more room to build in but unfortunately I'm a little restricted on space. In the future I hope to be able to increase my box size to allow more precious plants :eyesmoke:

What size would you suggest I do for a one light operation? Would you do 4 feet x 4feet x 8? or?
