lighting cycles pleasche HELP

gday, ive just brought my plants in from the greenhouse becasue this summer is crap, they are aboot 1ft tall and ive got them on 16 - 8 under a green cfl 125w light im going to get a red one the same aswell as ive heard using both of them is a good idea is it ??

anyway when they are aboot 2ft i plan to put them on 12 - 12 to get them to flower............once they have stared flowering should i put them back on 16 - 8 ??? i am unsure if i should do this as nearly everyone on here does not do it, im just thinking the more time to photosynthesze the bigger the buds and yeild will be as the plants can soak up more of the light given to them..............can anyone give me any reasons why this shouldnt work ad im a novice and cant think of any

if you dont leave it on 12/12 it will go back to vegistative state and will stop budding. Its best to follow the know tried and true methods rather than coming up with your own exspecially when you are a novice.

p.s a green cfl? its worthless plants dont use green light they use the blue and the red spectrums.

^^^^^^ agreed to the above dump the green light people use green lights because plants can't use the light spectrum they emit so usually they're used to work in/on grow rooms during the lights out period so the plant doesn't get stressed out by light during the dark period. 12/12 all the way through flowering if you swap back to 18/6 your just gonna go back to veg and wait weeks to start flowering again
