Light Question?

I have searched but couldn't find any info on this. My grow room is a 6x8 with 9ft ceilings. I run 3, 400wt hps and they are the high bay lights that you see in big warehouses etc. I have the bulbs detached from the ballast with 10ft chords and I don't use a reflector. I get decent yields but would I be better off leaving the bare bulbs hanging vertically or should turn the bulb sideways and rig up a reflector? Thanks!

a lot depends on your bulbs. some are vertical only, some horizontal and others universal(both ways). is the top of your grow area covered with reflective material ? and are the lights moveable up and down?

Pics might help?.......but we all know you need some type of reflector. If you hang vertically wont you have to rotate your plants?...that can be a pain in the ass if you have a lot of plants.GL.peace
