Light Question-Cervantes Grower's Bible...

Why would the Cervantes Grow Bible (page 177) say that "A 400-watt HID delivers plenty of light to illuminate a 4x4 foot area well"?

No comprendo!

I don't have a problem with it. I just don't understand it. If I used a Eye Hortliux bulb in it at 58,500 lumens the lumens per square foot would only be 3,565. Based on what I have read, this is at the very low end of what you would need to have good growth during flowering.

Well it isn't the optimal set up, more light is almost always better. Not sure what your goals are - but for personal use, a 400w will make you happy. i.e. 4 5 gallon buckets under it

i read the bible plenty of times and got alot of good info from it... but one thing i learned is he talkes alot about minimum's in your case its the light.. sure a 400 will flower a 4x4 tray but its not gonna give you optimum results.. you want absolute best results in a 4x4 area then get a duel 600w balast and a ( L ) adjust-a-wing hood with 2 mounts and 2 super spreaders.. if you can top that please let me know.. cause i want to try it

Just because some jackass writes a book it doesn't mean they know shit. It means they can write a book.

I'm not saying that the above author is a jackass or doesn't know anything, I have no idea who he is and I've never read his book. The only thing I am sure of is that he knows more about growing bud than his publisher.
