agreed i may try using less light holders and just add more spliters. hmm....may b a better way to get the bulbs to hang down by the plants better. and hey by the way where did u find orchid rocks?

id say Canadian tire but thats canadian lol so maybe a walmart super store? i saw an entire half isle on orchid food and planting mediums. are you going soil or what?

i already use soil right now....but would really like to get some of those orchid growin mediums but i cant find it around here...

I'm not really worried about any electrical failure using the splitters. You just need to know how to read electrical equipment and know some basic math. My cords are rated for 300w and each y splitter is rated for 660w. we are at a real advantage using cfls because those standards were set with incandescent bulbs in mind. so one of my four bulb fixtures draws 42w+42w+26w+26w which is 136w which is obviously well below the 300w max. i have some cords with lower ratings, but i obviously only put one or two bulbs in those.
