Light Leaks ?!?!

Ok so ive dont alot of reading on this topic as my two plants are getting big and rdy to flower. My question is how important is light leak, and when i say that i dont mean turning the lights off with all the window blinds open during the day, what i mean is will it really effect a plant that much if my grow room is dark but for a few hours at night before bed i have the tv on? Now ive stepped into my grow room aka my closet with all the lights off but my tv and i notice a small section of my car tarp that i use as "grow room doors" has a very very very small glow. I cant see the plants or anything that im doing but yes i can see the blue light though the tarp. now can this really be that bad? i mean everyone keeps talking about 100% darkness but in the wild the moon puts off a decent amount of light, wouldnt that be considered a light leak?

when you have plants growing indoors they get conditioned to the enviroment. any light leaks are bad, can disrupt or prolong flower times and any weak genetics will show.

awesome ty that's pretty much what i was thinking, i plan on putting another car tarp up anyways but i figured id get all my facts straight for future reference

There was a time when I thought it couldnt be that critical if a little bit leaked into the growroom now and then, and I kind of scoffed at the notion that any interruption of the dark period would/could cause problems.
Not anymore, after dealing with *&^$% Hermies, I learned the hard way. You gotta keep it as dark as you can manage it during its dark periods without interruption

To me there is little more depressing then putting in work and money towards the plants
just to watch them go to seed. I mean it wouldnt be so fucked if they did it right away
but they are done vegging and looking all pretty then boing!
It is my understanding that when the lights off they produce flowering hormone. When they see light the produce
antiflorene (or something like that) I had to go to some extent to get it right but I have 100% peace of mind
that I do not have light leaks. Sure you could get away with it but it will prolly affect the yeild at a minimum.
Maybe extent the finish time (guessing ) or tottaly screw your shit up. I think your right to throw up another
tarp or something. Good luck. I had 4 fruit of the gods from delta 9 go to shit from rough handeling and I vegged for two
months due to some shit I couldnt help. Then about a month it they stopped making goodies and were
proudly making seeds for daddy. Dumb bitches. I hate them, lol

Plants living outdoors are conditioned to moonlight, streetlights etc, plants growing indoors are conditioned to NO LIGHT during lights off. Its all about conditioning and what a plant is used to. Change that cycle even a little bit and problems are guaranteed in all but the heartiest of strains.

Talking about Moonlight, spectrum and green lights -
Would green bulbs in the garden block the spectrum of other bright artificial lights? They do use them in manicured hotel gardens and other night gardens.?????

i fear not, You can mix red and blue spec bulbs in the same room and they take advantage of them both.
I have wondered though if a thick clear green plastic sheild would turn all light passing through it and make it green.
As far as a green bulb blocking I THINK it would ignore that bulb and use the other.

I'm wondering because when my Outdoors go into flower, there are cracks in the fence leaking kitchen lights. I'm gonna have to block the fence I think.
However, I suspect that my Jamaican Dream has a slight bit of Ruderalis as it has started to show pistils already, unlike the others.
I use 3 x 25 w green standard Phillips lightbulbs indoors.

I bought a cheap green standard bulb (party light) that I dont use because when its lit I see white shining out of the imperfections.
Ended up with the haed lamp for now, still waiting for the 30dollar large green bulb for the room I just have
other shit ahead of it on the must have because I like to shop list

The amount of right reflected by the moon when full is about 3 lux. So, if you're below that, you should be ok.

Thanks for all the info, i think i was just tripping i mean the light was soooo soo minimal but i ended up putting a another tarp up just for ease of mind and i woke up today with both my girls with white hairs coming out so looks like everythnig is going good, i put them on 12/12 literraly last tuesday so its been one full week, and 90% of the ppl i asked said takes about 1 to 2 weeks to show sex after forced flower so again thanks you everyone for the help you guys rock.

Let me ask you this then like everyone says plants are conditioned to there surroundings so then technically if you always had a light leak at the same time everyday for its whole life said plant would be conditioned to the leak? i ended up putting another tarp up over my room and and i accuallty noticed white hairs today exactly one week after i put them on 12/12.

Nice ya man thats what i was thinking my leak must have been super small under 3 lux becuase i noticed white hairs today exactly one week from the day i turned them on to 12/12 but for ease of mind i ended up putting another tarp up last night... i have more tarps then my girlfriend has shoes so it wasnt any huge ordeal for me, but thanks for the info i always wondered what lux the moon put off, no one talks about that
