Light leak

I sealed up my grow room for light leaks a few weeks ago, boarded up the window, and cut up old tents to cover the cracks in the door and round the extractor outtake. So when I shut myself in the room for a few minutes it was completely dark

I then used a jigsaw to make 3 passive 6 inch intakes in the window's board. Used ducting in each hole and bent it upwards to the roof. I knew there would be a little light reflecting off the roof but at the time I was so busy I said I'd fix it later as they were vegging so was not really concerned.

Fast forward to this morning (day 4 of flower) and I suddenly remember. I wait for the lights to go out at 9 am and just wow. Once my eyes adjust the place is illuminated. The old ducting is covered in little pin prick holes which, as well as the ends of the ducting, is lighting up that area pretty bad right next to the plants. At the other end of the room the 10 inch ducting for the extractor fan, about 2 meters worth, is full of little holes in the foil and is glowing!

There's also an extension cable for an oscillating fan with a bright red and green light shining at the bottom of the plants.

The genetics are also pretty susceptible to hermie, two of my mates grew it and both hermied. But they horribly stressed the plants. Can't believe I forgot

I know only time will tell but whats the likelihood of hermies, would revegging be better? I patched up as much of the leaks as I could but I was in there for 30 mins with the light off my phone and didn't want to push it any longer, will have it fixed tonight when the lights come on

I wouldn’t worry about it now, just close up the rest tonight and try not to stress them anymore. I have some light seeping through in my closets sometimes. I don’t think small leaks make it to the plants.
Good luck

They will probably be fine. I think a small amount of light leakage is less likely to cause problems when they have lived like that their whole lives. I kinda think that plants that are used to pure darkness may be more sensitive to light leaks than plants that always had a little "moonlight".

Grab a green LED headlamp for when you have to make emergency visits in the dark. I am in my rooms all the time in the dark with LED headlamps and haven't had issues in many years.

Thanks guys, fingers crossed. I had the lights on 24/0 for the first few weeks to avoid leaks, so pissed at myself for forgetting for then forgetting in flower, especially after paying the electricic for a 10 week veg, really hating life if I get nanners

There's just so much varying opinion out there, some people who leave their tents open all during flower with no problems and others who've had hermies from leaving the tent open for a couple of hours, they claim anyway. Sort of fits in with your theory that plants adapt to a little stress. Lots of people saying it's genetics which is why I'm so worried, as I said I had 2 friends pull down crops riddled with seeds and a couple of grow journals I've seen before. But it's also a really resistant noob friendly strain.
