LIGHT LEAK!!!! GOT SOME ?s

So I found out tonight when I got home that there was a vent that was left open a little bit with a some light leaking into the tent. So my ? Is, If one day of light leak during the night cycle is going to effect the sex of plants turning them herme? Any replies or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

They are on their fourth or fifth day of 12/12 and are really healthy girls so I'm hoping it won't affect it. My OGs are already showing calyxes. For sure not nutsacks. Took out the kind scope and checked em out. Will check for the next few weeks and see if anything turns up. Will keep updated with photos in my original thread. Here's the link. www.rollitup.org/nutrients/577449-nute-lockout-due-to-ph-have-2.html#post8218716
So the problem turned out to be signs of root bound. Fixed it and the symptoms went away and have continued the thread. Thanks.

I have had light leak for weeks, and even my lights screw up from my timers like being on too long or off, but all in all it didn't hurt anything, don't let anyone think a few hours will affect anything because most likely it won't, I noticed it will affect the growth though, so always remember to fix them things.

Some strains are finicky than others and will hermie if you look at another strain, but I have never seen small light leaks or timer failure result in a room of full blown hermies, but I guess it could happen just the same.

Thanks guys!!! Fixed the leak that day, i just forgot to close a high 4" vent hole and the lights shut off with the hole open but it was minimal light so i think im in the clear. Will keep updated if anything happens to my girls!

what it takes to hermie something depends on the genetics. but chances are one night won't do it. i recommend going in your room at night cycle and sit in there for atleast 15 min letting your eyes adjust then snoop around, slowly, and look for pin wholes of light. a single pin whole, and I mean tiny, will give your plants far red spectrum light. which will fuck with your plants cycle. it will keep telling those plants that its daytime while they're trying to sleep.

i've been growing in a small closet for like 5 years now.. i leave my door open to control temps better.. my shit is so far from light proof it's not even funny.. i got all sorts of light going on over here..
saying that though, in the 5 years i've been growing there, not one hermie, not one of them.. grown all kinds of hermie prone fems, lol, and regs from tons of breeders, and never a single nanner to be seen..
i think a lot of breeders like to blame shit genetics on things like light leaks, when ime, light leaks aren't the end of the day, far from it..

just my $.02 and experience.. :D

Fair enough. if it works for you go for it. I had multiple genetics in my room this last cycle and half my room started to hermie. after all was said and done I went into my room turned off the lights and there were pin holes coming through the sides of one of my ducts. So yeah, you know, it COULD happen, I guess.
