My plant is about an inch tall and is on 24 hr light.
At what hight of the plant will i start to turn the light off and on at different hrs? and what are those hrs?

And what is veg and how many stages/light timeing changes will my plant see.

Thanks.

your plant is vegging now. either 24/0 or 20/4 or 18/6 on/off light schedule.
then you switch to 12/12 when you are ready to flower.

Now flowering is when it starts to bud correct?
And when do i switch it to 12 hrs light 12 dark?

Like how do you tell the plant is done vegging?

Do you just do it when ever you want or what?

First, I'm going to suggest you visit the GrowFAQ, because you sound like you have no clue.

A plant will preflower when it's ready to flower. Or you can force flower it.

Does any one even know what vegging stage is?...i don't think so...your veg stage does not begin untill the plant is about 3 weeks old...his plant is STILL in seedling stage....learn people...learn:neutral:

For the first few weeks use the 24/0 schedule...once you reach veg stage, go with a cycle of 16/8...works best for me...and actually is proven to reduce hermies in females...veg for a few weeks, and if you want force flower them...12 hours light...and 12 hours of UNINTERUPTED darkness...or you could do it the right way...let your plant preflower, cause then it's telling you it's mature enough to produce you BETTER bud then force flowering...then go to the 12/12 schedule.

not really a big difference in seedling and veg now is there. the plant grows leaves-veg....plant grows buds-flowering:peace:

dude hes right but you can keep you seedlings on 24 or 18/6. just hang a thermometer from the light down to the tops of your plants around 70-85 is good temp. also get a hydrometer which measures humidity&temp. in the begginngs you want hum high 80% or so once you grow them about 2 1/2 feet tall put them on 12/12 this means 12 hours of UNITERUPTED DARKNESS. not even a flash or they will go back into veg. after about 2 weeks you will have started 2 flower. males flower quickly so keep a vigilant daily watch inspect during the light cycle. Just Buy a Book or grow DVD dude Jorge Cervantes Grow dvd #1 or the Mj insiders guide by mel frank is still the best all around book & a wealth of info. i read it cover 2 cover 12 years ago in in school suspension in 2 or three days. that book provided me with info that applys to any kind of gardening and that aquired knowledge has helped me get jobs in the nursery biz. Highly recomended reading. to initiate the buildup of phytochrome the hormone in the plant that tells it 2 flower. Usually 2-3 months veg about another 3 for flowering. but your plants are seedlings so keep the light xtra high. bc of heat they have 2 get used 2 it for a few weeks. Also keep it really humis or the pots moist @ least & always vent the heat.

i start seedlings with T8 flouros and keep them real close, dont want them to stretch.
get yourself a grow book, read up, read FAQs, read grow journals similar to your grow.
you should do fine.

Not an attack...just sad that most people don't even know all the proper stages of a plants growth...if his plant is only 1" high...then I am ASSUMING it is only a few days old...maybe a week tops.

Actually there is a BIG difference in seedling to veg stage...read up, get 20+ years under your belt then step up!!!

so you are saying that a seedling that has germed, with its first true leaves are not vegging...well ill be damned, kind of seems like they are vegging to me

so please elaborate on this BIG difference that separates a 1 week sprout from a 3 week.
i would think that the plant is doing the same thing at 1 week as 3, growing roots and leaves.

And that's why your the rookie and i'm the expert. If you don't know your proper stages of plant life...i suggest you spend some time reading up on it...that's how i learned all my shit!!!!!

If you think it kinda seems like it...i just don't think you really know much about growing then.

so i got out my trusty growing guide and read some.
mel frank says the seedling stage is completed within 4-6 weeks but he doesnt explain the difference between seedling and veg.

all it said was the seedling starts with leaves with 1 blade and increases to 9 or 11 depending on variety.

LMAO...i like you dude...you got a good sense of humour, made me chuckle...i didn't realize i sounded so rude...MY apologies sir.

Seedling stage is when the plant is in development of roots, sugars, and other vital needs for the plant to enter it's usage stage...veg stage. Veg stage is when it gives way to vigorous stem and leaf growth.
