And leave folks without their medicine? It will take time for the LP's to get up and running - you know, finding commercial space which fits the standards HC haven't released yet, making sure it fits municipal zoning, which municipalities haven't addressed yet, the wait for the application process. Not to mention the logistics of supplying hundreds of patients by mail. If they haven't released new regulations and started the application process for LP's yet the timeframe of transition between DG's and LP's is getting smaller and smaller... to a point where my first sentence will be a reality - one which can't happen, legally.

@buckets Tried to PM ya but your box is full, just wanted to know how long it took you after your app got actually forwarded to HC (after that address mishap), for them to send it back to you due to clerical error on the part of your doc? I've read that HC responds to missing information errors within a couple weeks.

Yea supposed to be like a couple weeks. I think in 2012 they added that extra department or whatever they call it, where they check for the mistakes upfront. I read it on their site, something about improvement to speed things up.

And I really hope the new regs are not announced in the middle of dam winter because its so hard to go view properties and haul equipment and setup things in the winter. Especially middle canada.

Can anybody tell me what's the process for renewals? Are there a lot of forms? Who signs what? What's the typical h/c turn around time? Somebody I just spoke with suggested I do it four months prior to expiry. Any comments? Thanks all.

renewal is an easier process as long as you have the same signing doctor. you fill out the renewal Form R, B1 or B2 along with C or D or E1 or E2 dependent on your situation. so in essence the only change is you fill out form R instead of form A. it should be sent in 2-3 months prior to expiry. if you are changing your original signing doctor the whole process is treated as a NEW process and you will have to do what you did the first time. although when you change your doctor and start over your renewal should be same MMAD account as before just a year change.

I spoke with a HC rep the other day, and was asking him all kinds of questions about the changes.. He seemed to know what he was talking about. Even he said Harper is having trouble pushing the program through as fast as he wanted to.. The rep said Harper didn't take a lot of things into consideration. He said they will continue to process apps as normal, until they are told otherwise. Then he said "Between you and me, it's highly unlikely the changes, if any, go through before re election".

P.S. I didn't pay a dime for the original app, or my renewal. I have a 5g a day script with a Prod. Lic. I just took it to my family Dr. and he filled it out. It doesn't cost him anything to fill out a page or two, besides a 15 min slotted appointment, covered by HC (health Card).. It's all about the Dr. But charging hundreds of $$, seems a bit crazy to me. I know people have a hard time finding a Dr. to sign in the first place, but don't let them suck you in. They literally have to fill out 2 pages. The rest can be done by you.

huh I went thru a laywer to hook me up with a doctor, since my doc refused on the grounds she didnt believe in it.
and had to pay $1000. plus tax for a 6 gram prescription.
seems like I was taken advantage of, since I hadnt heard about HC shutting anything down, but Im sure the laywers office knew.
I have a renewal in feb 2014 so I guess we will see.
Thanks to all of you on here ,the info on this site is excellent. and I plan on being informed

Thanks Buckets
it is lame, I guess I will see like everyone else what the renewal date will be, and then judge from there, what the next step in the process,,,
cause somewhere down the road, its everyones right to be free from persecution in life or death ,or for looking after their own health...

Does anyone else find it distasteful that they choose "April fools"day as a cut off???

Looks like I'll be getting my card with juust enough time to make use of it once or twice. Submitting paperwork soon as the CRC is finished. It's the end of an era... just glad I got to live in it. Soon we get our meds from Rexall for $25/gram :/

Washington's laws are quite good... maybe it's time to move south, at least until the conservatives are out. Don't even need citizenship to grow, just residency. Collective gardens allowed... decent plant limits.. $15 round trip for 3.5hr bus to Vancouver... I've gotta say, it's tempting. At least here there's no constant threat of the feds. "its legal but u could still go 2 jail lol we warned u"
