lettuce opium

Case reopened. The lettuce doesn't have the same psychological effects of ibuprophen, it has the same analgesic effects of ibuprophen, MUCH different. Basically it works as just as good as ibuprophen at reducing pain, it also contains lactucopicrin which induces sedative and hypnotic effects. Definetly a cool plant, I'd try it if you have the chance.

Oh also, it's not toxic.... Rats could with stand 6 grams per kilogram without any toxic effects so it's not posiouness at all

No it's only in certain species of lettuce, there's a species literally called opium lettuce (also called wild lettuce and bitter lettuce)

Oh it does say it's poisonous, that's wierd cause if you scroll down it says that they made an extract out of the seeds that isn't toxic at all, maybe there's a way you could extract the chemical out so you could smoke it pure without the poisonous shit

It also says there's only been one fatality though, so it can't be that toxic

It doesn't really say whats poisonous though, the chemical or the stuff from the actual plant. If it's the stuff in the plant it should be a easy extraction because it says that the chemicals in the latex milk in the plant. So you could just slice the plant and collect all the milk, like how you get opium from poppies.

Oh ok, I lurked all over wiki and I figured it out. Go on the lactucopicrin page and click on "sesquiterpene lactone" because I gues that's the kind of chemical it is. But it says it only causes toxic reactions if overdoses, so if you use it with moderation you should be good.

I think your toxic constituent is going to be the hyoscyamine. Its a tropane and we all no those can fuck one right up.

Peace
