Didn't we just have this conversation in my inbox? :)

Here is where you can get the Citizen simulator if you want to crunch numbers: http://ce.citizen.co.jp/lighting_led/dl_data/sim/CITILED_ver5_Selection_Tool_WEB.xlsx

In case you can't run the spreadsheet, the 1212 is at about 35.4V/37.1W at 1050ma...so 6 I guess. Doing math in my head, but that sounds reasonably correct.

Oh yeah, the 1818 gets a bit awkward I think around there. It's a higher voltage cob, so 51.1V/53.7W give or take at 1050ma. So, er, 4? With a bit more overhead left in the driver.
we were discussing the Cree COB's on these drivers via PM. But the savings here is just too much to ignore with the Citizen COB's.

I was planning on running 6 1212's @50W (dimmable) with a single hlg320-1400. There is a little horse power left over, but it makes for a good setup. The problem with the 1812 and 1818 is the +50V's and mapping those into a driver efficiently.

Yeah, I ended up putting 4x1818 on an HLG-120-700, which is about 140W on paper, drawing 150W at the wall...BUT with the dimming wires open that draw goes up another 10W or so.

So overall, I'm right around 75 PAR watts with 160W draw over 4 sq ft. Not luxury amounts of light, but sufficient.

Sorry man trying to wrap my head around the best move for me going forward. I do appreciate all of the help.
No need to apologize, it's just pretty simple math, and you nailed it for the Cree. It's harder to find Citizen data, but more flexible, once you load up the spreadsheet.

K trippyness, it's time for you to buy the 1,000 lot of these Getians already. I'm ready to buy a ton of them.

Hi, I found a seller on Alibaba who has Citizen cobs (and others), but for now he only has the CLU056 series, not the latest 058's. But if you're a customer on Alibaba, please write this guy and ask him to stock the 058's please. I think that for many people it will be the easiest way to actually get these COB's.

So again, please help out and write this guy!

Ill be picking some up for sure to run some tests vs the 3590 and Vero 29 all 3500K.
Will update this thread when received and with real photos .
Will test PAR of each COB all driven off the same driver in the same environment,
I will test them without optics and then with the 80 degree Glass Optics.
This will be over a 5 x 5 space and check the numbers and see if we came close or lost it. Things are looking good.

Sorry for the late response.
About to order some Vero29 to test against.
Wont be doing the 3590 due to they are $91 CAD EACH...not in my budget currently.

Getian COBS work very well.
Waiting on a new PAR meter from Apogee as well.
About to setup some new genetics to do a full test from Seed to Clone to Veg to Harvest :)
However, they did try to overcharge me on shipping. I have a Business fedex account so I got them to use my account and shipping was half what they stated. Nothing new, alot of china companies love to overcharge on smaller amounts.

Seems like they are running off the same die as the Citi CLU48. Look identical.

i ordered a bunch and you bought none....
I have several of them. I just dont have the funding currently to buy 1k of them. Plus the demand would have to be very high. WOuld make more sense for a DIY cob supplier, if they turn out to be on par with CITI or Vero.
I will be doing some testing against Vero29 Gen7 with a PAR meter as well as a grow off.
Have you conducted any tests, if so what were your impressions vs the Citi that you sell?

some of the larger chips are very slightly cheaper than the citis. but time i ship and import it was a wash (citi imports for me and ships from US - i always know exactly what its gonna cost,no customs surprises)

nothing that they had in the size of the 1212 was a better deal than what i already have

their bigger chips looked good but 100V chips are hard to work with

their binning/model numbers werent so transparent, they offer 180 lm/W and stuff on alibaba and thats fine if you only want 5000k 70 cri

most models were only available in 4000k and 5000k, any other colors were a 10% premium and minimum 100 pc order

i liked their lead times its the one place they beat citi

i havent tested all chips, and it may have been a packing error, but one of the chips that was supposed to be 3000k 90 cri looked way too yellow and sure enough it tested at 3700k on my spectrometer. if anybody wants to play around i still have all the samples, most everything is factory sealed in static bags. i put up a list somewhere with models and pricing i need to find it again

I can agree on this. While the getian COBS are slightly cheaper, after shipping, import and customs. Better off buying Citi.
Binning is off for sure.
Weird question but why do you not stock Vero Gen 7 in your store?
good to see someone tested them.

theyre really not available yet. only in last few weeks digi got a few 50 pks of the new models. anyboy with qty orders in doesnt even have them yet. i could buy singles from digikey at the same price as everyone else and sell them for more on my site but who wins there? customers pay more and i hold 1000s of dollars of stock to maybe make a buck a chip IF the chip market doesnt fall off in price at which case its a complete and total loss.

pretty sure robin doesnt stock veros for the same reason
