Let's talk about chem 4

Who's grown chem 4?

Ok, so I have this cut of chem4. It was acquired from the most reputable and award winning nursery in Oregon. We I took in 20 of them to our tier two grow in Eugene but culled them pre flip cuz they got too burned.

I got one of them from the same source.

Ok, so my last crop I flipped two chem4s. Thru the entire lifecycle, the plants seemed to adversely react to feedings. I'd lower ppm every feed, to where eventually (this is in a nearly 3 month veg) I was merely feeding her kelp, earthworm casting teas, molasses, and milk. Threw her some Epsom salt in there too I believe once or twice.

Now when I flipped, I knew she hated food. But I assumed she'd need SOMETHING to give her energy to produce and she started to show that, ya, maybe a bite to eat would be nice...

So I fed her a super light dose and she burned. Badly enough to crisp a few forming flowers even.

Needing space and etc, I culled them since i had cuts anyhow.

So that's the back story.

This round I just threw one in the room. approaching her gingerly with the food the entire time. I fed her 1/4 of everything else in the room thru veg to give you an idea and she almost hated it at times.

Three weeks ago I flipped the room. I've yet to feed her nothing but a little kelp, and gave her a top dressing of fresh soil...that's it. Heres a cpl pics...youll notice she is extremely healthy... IMG_20191230_013700.jpgIMG_20200101_220756_119.jpgIMG_20191230_015456_966.jpg

Now I'm going to continue to avoid nutes.

She's absolutely beautiful and wreaks of stinky gas with notes of lemon and pine at the rub. Stacks fat and appears to wanna be a good producer.

I suppose there is a slight chance that she's not a true chem4, but the source is credentialed and stakes their rep on true lineage and has even had some strains DNA cataloged. Top clone nursery in the state. Never seen anything yet in the five years we took in from them. Not us. Not neighboring farms Nuthin.

So was wondering what if any experience do others have with her.

Have you found her to be a picky eater?

Mines practically anorexic hehe

chem 4 is indica if i'm not wrong .. if your chem are half the size of the others plants after stretch then she has 2x less light so its usually the plants that will eat the less/ be the darker
from my experience
if she is the same size as others cuts in the room then its not that

Sounds nice. Smoked chem 4 once, good flavor. Moving forward this is the stuff mass producers are going to want. Spending x3 on feed for a week shorter bloom ain't gonna cut it with commercial producers.

You know what to do. Rename it Olsen OG and market the hell out of it as the most fuel efficient gas based vehicle to success on the Cannabis clone market.

I am going to be growing a chem 4 x stardawg cross from Greenpoint - Copper Chem. I have seen and heard rave reviews. Very much looking fwd to seeing what comes about.
I liked the CCs I grew. Not quite as terpy or potent as the 4, but similar in growth characteristics. The 4 stayed green and CC faded to beautiful fall shades of purple.
Oh and I only grew a couple seeds. Given the genetics, I have no doubt a good pheno hunt could turn up something better than the clone.
