Let's see what we can learn from our mistakes

IMG_20100921_073919.jpgIn regards to a new short bushy strain, I forget what kind of high it said on Nirvana, but I've got some blue mystics that grow so short, stout and uniform when Fimmed. It practically LST's itself. It's under 4 low watt led panels right now and I've had people tell me they've never seen such healthy green plants before. I can't wait to see them flourish in the flower cab, but I'm waiting until the new cab is finished to start flowering it.

So far so good! Coming down the home stretch now. Kool powder has been in for a couple days now. The plan is to run that for 18 days then flush for 3 days.

Tops are starting to lean over from added weight. Even with the bamboo stakes as support they are shifting. Size is much larger overall for buds than in previous grows and there are more of them this time. As the name of this thread says, gotta keep from making mistakes..... Enjoy the bud porn

DSCF4454.jpg,DSCF4456.jpg No more quarters for scale!

Like what you see? Let me know and stay tuned!

Smell is really starting to pick up from the flowering. Buds continue to grow, in every direction it seems. A couple of the buds are looking like they have crowns. They are growing tips out of the sides of the top buds.

As for the seeds I planted, they had some delay due to the taproot being too long and I tried two different methods to secure them. One of them I stood up and wrapped a wire around for support.
DSCF4481.jpg

The other I pinned the stem at a bend and let the top grow from there.

DSCF4483.jpg

Since there is no real rush on these seedlings I don't really care that they are slow to develop. If they turn out to be poor genetics, they will just be cut down.

Not sure if anyone is still keeping up with this thread since there have been no posts in the last week......

Just did my final nute change and made sure to plug in the pump, lol. Next tuesday or Wednesday I will begin flushing.

The tops are getting heavy and even with the bamboo they are having a hard time standing up. I am looking forward to these last few days as well as the final yield. This grow has gone without a hitch (knocks on wood). This should give me a good idea of the yield for future grows as a top end. I do plan to start smaller plants next grow so that will have some factor but I think there will be more usable nodes on the plants that way since the bottom of the plants now don't even have any bud on them.

Easy!
Looking very good there!
I received my 90w UFO from Breakneck the other day. Im growing Pineapple Express G13 seeds, Blue Widow Dinafem seeds, Blueberry auto Dutch Passion seeds.
They are now about a week +2 days old, onto their 2nd and 3rd nodes, looking healthy.4
This is only their 2nd day under the LED, they spent the beggining under a 150w CFL.
Things i have noticed are that since adding the UFO about 4 inches from the tops, the leaves on all the plants are now pointing upwards.

Cant wait to see what you yeild wet & dry!
Keep my updated, and any pics from today?

Peace! :peace:

Also, is that first seedling pic a mutant or am i just so blazed?
I was wondering if anyone would comment on that!

Not sure if it is from being laid over like it was for a while but it actually is split at the first node. It is growing two natural tops! I'll post pics as it grows to see how it develops.

Looking REALLY good in there Lucky! :)
Buds dont look too big but they look nice and dense! ;)

Now, with your little mutant growing 2 heads as a seedling....
KEEP IT, lets see what it grows.. Hopefully each head will open up and branch out like a normal plant, so hopefully 2x as many budsites.

I do wonder if it is genetic or random. Might be worth trying to polinate one of the branches when the time comes, getting some seeds and growing them out..

In it til the end!

Peace!

It is for sure growing double! As you can see, there are tops on each side. I have had to hand spray these seedlings to keep from giving them too much nutes. Next week when these ladies go in the cab:

veg.jpg

I will start the seedlings on half strength nutes. I hope I will be able to clone them quickly to determine the sex before the next grow that will start after New Year's. Like I stated before, I am hoping for some purple tones in the finished bud not just on the plant as it grows. The stems are already getting a purple hue, but my other strains do the same thing.

Final stretch! Plants are looking good. Leaves are getting more brown on them as the plants use up their nutrient reserves so that's a good sign.

I went back to the quarter for scale so you guys can compare the new pics to some of the earlier pics to see how they have progressed.

Here are a few cab shots that show some tops:

DSCF4512.jpg,DSCF4514.jpg

In that last pic there it shows both strains in the same shot. You can see Peachez on the left and Cameo on the right.

The ladies in the veg are nice and short with LOTS of tops on them

Flush will begin on Tuesday, chop in 7 days. What do you guys think?

A couple days ago I put the seedlings on drip along with the other plants in veg. One of the leaves on the "mutant" seedling was showing some yellowing, but now it has a darker hue showing. Not sure if this is browning from being older and the plant is using nutes out of it, or if this is the purple I am hoping for. My camera can't get super close so here is the best shot I could get.

DSCF4517.jpg,DSCF4519.jpg It really is too early to tell, but I will be watching this closely.

I did put this under the scope and the coloring is internal not external discoloration.

I did notice one thing though..... this plant already has trichomes!

I checked some of the more mature clones and they showed some trichome development on the fan leaves, but not as much as this little seedling.

DSCF4518.jpg Can you see the dots on the fan leaves with the flash on?

Wow look at those pistils! I'm up early AM trying to register for some rare classes in IT before all of the seats are taken. Damn website saying I have to wait til tomorrow, yet I'm eligible for early registration.

Maybe I'll switch my major to botany..... :)

Looks like the leaf is not showing any purple. It is still looking sweet because fo the split though :)

DSCF4531.jpgDSCF4525.jpg Anyone ever seen this happen before?

Took about 3 hours for me and my gf to trim and hang the plants and I am pleased! Cameo is super sticky and dense :P
Peachez has the biggest buds on her.

I didn't mess with any wet weight because I don't really care and there is a lot of stem on these still. I cut almost all stem off when they are dry so that is the only one I really care about.

Here we go!

DSCF4538.jpg,DSCF4540.jpg,DSCF4542.jpg,DSCF4544.jpg,DSCF4546.jpg

Trimmed:

What a difference having adjustable lighting makes! Each top was nice and dense and the mid buds were about as dense as my tops were in previous grows. With the fimming that I did, I ended up with 15 tops this time.

I am very happy with this grow! Looking forward to seeing what the final weight is.....

Wow looking great! I'm glad you've been succeeding so much :) That harvest looks mighty good.

Quick question: How do you upload your pictures so they appear in the body of the post instead of at the end as attachments?

Thanks! I just use the "insert image" button and select the pic I want and it puts it where the cursor was.
