Hey ya'll

Noticed some of our plants developing these gross yellow leaves.

Da fuq is going on hurr?

pH in is 7.2
~125ppm @.5
Lotus Bloom nutrients (1 on 1 off)
Organic Soil
Micro Grow

We DO have fungus gnats - current top dressed with some ewc, mosquito bits, and fly traps hanging around.

I did give it some 1/2 strength calmag 2 waters ago - seemed like it had gotten worse since then. Should I got full strength next time and see if it helps?

Real bummer because I JUST did the last defoliation and now more leaves are dying :(

I really don't know. I've never had a Ca deficiency since my water has plenty. I'd wait for more responses.

I just noticed you're feeding 7.2 pH water. Are you using Ph up? You could be locking shit out.

No, that is the natural pH of the water. Had a thread on here a week or so ago about pH and every suggested that because I am using organic soil that I shouldn't even touch the pH at 7.2 because by the time it makes it through the soil it will lower.

That's also 7.2 before adding the lotus bloom. Maybe the bloom brought it too low? Did 1/2 strength feed, 1/2 strength calmag, then full strength feed since that thread without touching the pH.

You need to test the pH of the solution after you add the nutes. I don't pH my water with soil, but I also don't give it anything too crazy.

I had this happen with to much dolomite lime , kept ph at 7 and no matter what I watered with even at 5 it would rise back over night, not sure how much sulfur to bring down, something you have to experiment with, Google might be able to help but less is more

also what ammendments are in your organic soil, if there is no lime you might be lacking that source of calmag

and are you feeding bottle nutes? anything but water will harm the micro herd , anything labeled organic still needs to be phed its not technically organic , true organics require nothing but water because all the organic compounds are mixed into the soil before hand, then you just top dress with compost/ewc to feed the herd which in turn feeds the roots i think your trying to stay organic but killing the herd, maybe recharge can help get the numbers back up

I knew I've seen this before. In My grow. The fungus gnats are also in larva form they attach to the roots. Hydrogen peroxide wash roots or else kill the plants. The little suckers steal all the sap. ya gotta do something. I think the purple stemmed pale leaves is the give away too Me.

I had a grower come by and look at the plants - he pointed towards the gnat larvae as well. I ordered some nematodes they should be here in 3 days.. afraid it may be too late by the time that comes around.

This is interested - I was previously pH downing pretty harcore - taking it to 6.3-6.6 on regular water and no down on nutes since the bloom brings the pH down.

I've been adding a little sugar because I read that this helps with the microbial life.
