less exhaust when using an a/c

That's the beauty of a dual hose ac you don't even need an exhaust, I have no exhaust in my shed and my ac runs at the most for 11 minutes per hour. I never put 2 and 2 together your right less exhaust would probably make it easier for the ac to regulate temps.
Thats a good point. A window/wall AC unit will already work the same as a two hose portable. Neither will add or remove air from the grow room. At least all the ones Ive looked at, Id research the particular model to verify though. With that said, I'd probably start with an even lower exhaust speed of like 100 CFM. I wouldn't run it at nothing cuz I do like to know some fresh air is coming through and keep humidity lower.

Danby dual hose definitely exchanges the air adequately for an 8 by 8 room. You can tell it's fresh air coming in and not just cool air. Been growing in there for a year now no probs.

Realistically your AC should be able to maintain the temps regardless what fan speed you have set. Does it have a thermostat or just low/med/high?

just low fan and high fan no medium .... there is no thermostat on the ac i have hooked up right now....

i have other a/c's but they are still in windows in my bedrooms for now... no quite cool enough to disconnect them yet but temps are dropping

the reason i was thinking of turning off the exhaust in the back of the room is because its 5-10 degrees hotter back there which means my cold air is being sucked out... id like to get around the same temp thru out my room as right now it fluctuates from front 75 to 80 in the back
