People keep talking about light losses thru the lens, but if it's focused and getting where it needs to go that's more important.
We were talking about the RZ diffuser lens. It does not foccus light. Just goes into ledil reflector.
Not a tent, walls aren't very reflective and the modules are end to end, not a lot of crossover.
My very informal, ad hoc test is between CXB3590 with 80 degree lenses and bare.
As in just taking the lens off at the same distance away from the canopy?
One 4 x CXB3590 @54W module has no lenses. The other one has them. The plants under the one with lenses are growing *noticeably* faster. PERIOD.

There are a few schools of thought on clearance. I was mostly operating under the assumption closeness / intensity should be maximized. I had been experimenting with various heights. I came across a post where greengenes talked about the benefit of permitting a decent clearance. It sounded like the voice of experience so I raised my lamp 4 inches. After 24 hrs plants looked more vibrant. I currently keep a 20-24 inch clearance. Some plants dont seem to be as effected by the intensity. They will grow directly into the light. Others, i think, were stunted by the irradiance.
It's not me but maybe a combo of lens on and lens off ?

How did I fail to? There's two modules, plants under both, same nutes to both, one module has lenses, the other does not. The side without lenses isn't keeping up.
