Lemon Balm: How Long Before Harvesting

This year I decided to grow some lemon balm as well. Last year I went to a bed&breakfast that served lemon balm tea. I just loved the flavor great with a :joint: not to lemony but just perfect.

I was just wondering how tall does lemon balm before you can harvest it. Mine is about 13 inches tall with some nice broad round green leaves.
Hmm... the perfect tea lemon balm+anise+honey

yeah, I always have some lemon balm in my garden- pull off a few leaves, throw em in a cup, pour some boiling water in, steep a couple minutes and you're good to go- settles me down for bed (when I don't have something stronger to knock me out :joint:)

I've really gotten into lemon balm. Its refreshing and extraordinarily great for every meal. Lemon balm is a citrus scented herb that is dried and used for tea. It can be used to help with a variety of health problems, including fever, headaches, anxiety, and depression. It is also used to treat gas, bloating, and other indigestion problems. Lemon balm is safe to give to children. Some of the best lemon balm can be found at trentonteas.com. Cheers!

O yea its good stuff, harvested anytime before it blooms with some flowers, but if you keep pickin off leaves i dont think it wants to flower. They say the leaves get a dull smell when the flowers come out.

I am pretty sure that you want to do it before flowering...they are perennial and reproduce (mostly) by root division, although you can find seeds online...always pot it though so you dont let it get out of control in your garden.

I lived at a property where we had tons of it growing...I would say we pulled most of it during late spring and early summer
