Legalization of Medical MJ

You have to realize the forces at work here. The politicians who are voting on this issue, and similar issues are being payed by so many entities to vote against it.The Pharma companies alone probably spend close to a billion dollars a year making sure medical marijuana never survives. The only way to really beat this is to keep supporting pro-medical marijuana organizations through volunteering some of your time, and a little money. You need to protest as much as you can , write letters/email to members of congress telling them how medical marijuana helps you or those close to you.

Sounds stupid but if we could get a few movie stars to wear " green ribbons " to events like the acadamy awards, that would go an amazingly long way. The world-wide TV coverage of these stars explaining what the ribbons are and why they are wearing them.Politicians need to know ( or at least think ) that this issue is on the minds of MANY Americans , and they are FOR medical MJ, if not legalizing it altogether.

Spread the word and the love.Eventually the politicians will see themselves on the losing end of a popular issue, and will be forced to fall in line.
OK well first off i have to agree with you 100 percent. what he says its true while most of us sit here watching others trying to get the one thing that either helps you in medical issues or something that you love which as we all kno is marijuana and watch how so many people will try to make it legal i wouldn't mind it being for medical use any other legalization of marijuana could result in Chaos over the world crime would deff go up and as of now the gov. barely does anything good to keep any1 save cause atleast and most of every1 in that organization is in to get money and get out or stay in power so that the laws that they make us follow wont affect them....we the people are who gave the goverment there power and standing together will help making decisions in showing them that we cant be bullied by them..we should help the medical research and growth of marijuana and stand by all that we love and care about and come on we are human beings so we kno whats right and whats not...i bet that if every person on this forum or even in other forums were to write a later every week it would change a lot of opinions out there...also matters will be taken into hands and even now others are doing this but united we stand strong...and we can make a difference! so if any1 is with me on this then we can discuss this matter here and see on further options :)

Why would crime go up if pot was legalized...That makes no sense at all...

Pot smokers are not violent people, plus pot doesnt' make you violent like alcohol does...Alcohol is by far wayyy worse and dangerous than pot...

If someone has gotten in trouble with the law it is probobly because they were drunk or on some other drug, not cause they were smoking pot...

I'd much rather make alcohol illegal and legalize pot

Getting pissed off an moody, guys. Not the right way to go. Weed calms you, right? Suck that calm in and keep it for weeks. The whole world is alot better if shit only pisses you off a little bit.

We need to include in our letter, that the marijuana is a ridiculous cash crop. The government could make more money from selling marijuana, over alcohol, easy. We're talking weed companies fighting for your halves, and ozzes. We're talking on-demand pharmaceutical stress relieveing joints. We're talking new cloths, state-of-the-art government bongs, new everything. Write some letters guys. But before you do, smoke a bowl, think of your theory, and write it the fuck down to Mr. Congressman. Gotta go. 4:16.:joint:

Here's something that might help our cause to legalize the weed.

ASA : Governor Schwarzenegger: Stand Up For Patients' Rights!

Join the membership. We can defeat the DEA by joining together and keeping prices down. LA is going to start regulating co-ops starting today. We need to continue to support ASA so that we can have a political voice, and lobbying. Hey, someone said "United we stand, divided we fall"... Let's do it!

Too much hatred and greed is going on in this world, we can make a difference. How would you like to be able to change the world?

I have to agree with this 100%. People who smoke pot are usually very passive. That's one of the reasons we like our pot is because it is so relaxing. Alcohol is a depressant and in most cases makes idiots out of people who drink too much of it. I've never in my life seen a person 'lose it' while stoned on pot but I have seen numerous people become very violent with alcohol. I think it all boils down to money. The government doesn't want to legalize it because then they won't get their share and it goes all the way down the line.

When I went in to see my family doctor about getting my health card, even though he agreed that if it helps then I certainly qualify BUT he also wanted me to get some kind of inhaler stuff. To sniff it up my nose.  Hell no.
My blue cross probablywon't cover that and who wants to get high that way???
I'm very happy in knowing Canada is becoming more open minded about it.....FINALLY!!!!!

My two cents:

My father worked in law enforcement for many years as a dispatcher and then a records clerk. Many cops he and I talked to had the opinion that alcohol should go under prohibition again and marijuana should be completely legalized, for purposes medicinal or recreational.

The reason: Any police officer out there will tell you that when he pulls over a drunk driver, the guy is likely to be going way too fast, and he'll probably be a prick that's completely uncooperative and a prick to boot. He's likely to even try to fight the officer. Conversely, if the guy they pull over is stoned, he's probably driving under the speed limit, and he'll probably just submit right away. Stoners aren't violent, and they're ready to deal with the consequences of their actions.

But that's just my opinion.

If marijuana was legal it wouldn't be considerd a gateway drug! If it was sold in stores and not by DRUG dealers you would only have to worry about it being a gateway for ciggerets and alcohol. So maybe less people would get turned on to crack causing the crime rate to drop. It's kind of hard to break the law when you are waiting on pizzahut!

Scientifically, it isn't a gateway drug now. There have been a whole bunch of studies done on jr. high kids that showed the kids who did smoke reefer didn't feel like moving on to anything harder 1 year later.

It is not that MJ is a gateway drug...it just so happens that people that do "drugs" do not have a moral objection to MJ so they will be more likely to use MJ than someone who does neither. I have smoked since I was 14 and dont do other drugs, and if I decided to it wouldnt be because I smoke, it would be because I had someone who does drugs tempting me and pushing it on me. I have never been smoking and had someone be like "ok now lets all do lines" it just doesnt happen like that. I do see many people who do drugs smoking to cope with the withdraw or the comedown of drugs though. Drugs are bad, MJ is not.

I do not think smoking weed will make you want to try other drugs. My point was more about the dealers trying to make an extra buck by turning people on to other drugs.

Dealers piss me off sometimes. I know a couple guys who just sell weed, but a lot of the dudes I go to will try and turn me on to other shit. When I say I want an eighth, that's all I fucking want.

Absolutely agree 100%! People were say crap like mj gets you hooked on other more harmful drugs aren't tokers them and don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Sometimes even hubby and I get into debates about the mj subject but he is usually wrong because he just doesn't have all the facts. Plus mj affects ppl differently. I have only toked with my hubby 3 times out of almost 20 years and each and every time it totally screws him up.
I really haven't seen anyone act this way on just getting high off mj but it happens.
