your quick question doesn't have a quick answer, really.

plants utilize all spectrum ratios, seems to be the growing consensus. LEDs typically scale from someting like 720-730nm (infrared) 660nm (deep red) 630nm (red) white, either 3000k or 5000k, and 460nm blue. I guess there's also some convincing arguments for UV light at like 400nm. However, multi-spectrum pure white LEDs are gaining popularity.

interesting. I ask this question because I see big companies selling their led grow lights for very expensive prices. Now I know I can get them alot cheaper if i know what spectrum's are best. thanks again

this thread and some other DIY'ers floating around here will give you much, much better information than I just did. spectrum isn't the only thing to take into account if you're building your own or having one built.

keep in mind, white LEDs range the full spectrum at different intensities according to their kelvin ratings. They're good for all stages of growth. Blues are more for vegetative stage and reds are for flowering.
