My first grow was a combo LED/CFL, and I thought it worked out well so doing it again... Details in my journal, link in sig.

Eta: I used 4 26 watt CFLs. Daylight for veg and soft white for bloom.
Firstly major props it looks like u produced some awesome bud!

A bit more info.... it's my first grow for personal use only but I want nice tasting dense buds(doesn't everyone) It's now 3 days since sprouting only one seed sprouted the survivor is in the propagator under a 10w led strip light when in airing cupboard as well as sunlight on window ledge (during bright hours) on a 20/4 cycle. I have been spraying her about twice a day.

It's now 3 days since sprouting and she's looking a bit weak and spindly so I moved her into grow area under the 240w grow panel. I put the grow panel about 1cm away from the propagator lid as i think she hasn't had enough light and don't want her to be searching. The light is about 3-4 inches from the top of the plant.

Do you think I have the led panel too close, any other advice?

I ordered 4 25w cfls 2 6500k and 2 2700k I was thinking I'd put 1 of each either side of the plant in a y-splitter in a few weeks once I start properly vegging, what do you reckon? Do you think it would be better to use 4 x 6500k for veg and swap them all to 2700k for flower or as it'll only be 1-2 plants would that be sufficient?

New world icon, I'm a proper newbie to the forum but I will post updates throughout the grow.

gentlemen, some important info from Mike of GLH I saw on another forum:. Run your 2011 Spectras at 24-28".

I just finished a grow with eight five hundred watt panels. The Panels that were hung between 24 to 28 inches out yielded the panels that i had at 14 to 16 inches. I received the lab results back on my lights yesterday and the PAR values were much much higher than I expected. Id say to everyone using my panels raise them up to the 24 to 28 range. The plants we grew this last round were Lemon Skunk, Pakistani Kush, Great white and Super lemon haze each plant responded better to the lights that were higher up at 24 to 28 inches. If you guys can please pass this along. I put one 500w panel off to the side with four Pakistani kush in pure coco and used the full line of canna nuts, I kept this light at 14 inched for veg and dropped it down to 11 inches and then 8 inches during flower and pretty much destroyed them. I raised the light back up to 14 inches, they did not recover. I see a few people have had sever leaf yellowing that looks like the leafs were burnt with my panels, thats because they were to close. This doesnt happen with every strain and seems to only happen with soil and or organic grows.

Please people anyone with my lights you know how intense they are, they dont need to be slammed right on top of the plants. Raise them up!

Good lookin out. I wish my growspace allowed me to run my lights 2 feet over. They're barely at 12" as is. Guess I should see if I can't get that light a little higher

Now I'm wondering if my lights are too low to my canopy, the specs are quite close if not in my favour on power consumption...

Is the blackstar 2011 3W LED Flowering system good?
for running autos?
if so how many?

btw its 240w
btw its really only 140w, 2 plants tops. It should work well, and its about the best deal you can get for a 3w LED panel.

Wanna let everyone know that growledhydro/mike just confirmed in an email to me he will be releasing all the exact nm/wavelengths produced, spectral graphs, PAR stuff, all that jazz. Says the results finally came back from the light lab and so now the website will be updated soon. I'm pretty excited, I think it will be the first time an LED company has posted all nm while claiming full spectrum or 12 wavelengths

I have a few of the Blackstars, the 240s, and I think being that autos are fairly small plants, and the footprint of the Blackstar 240 is 4-6 square feet, it could do a lot more than 2 autos, but as far as regular plants, 2-3 is about right, all depends how long you veg for. I have 2 indica dominant strains under each of mine.

the 240w blackstar model can only manage two autos??

I agree.
To put it in slightly different terms, don't flower more then a 2'x2' area with the Blackstar 240W (and expect solid results).
In a 2'x2' grow area, you could flower 4 (maybe 5) autos in 2 gallon containers.

I've been tempted to give autos a try at growing, just to say I have tried them.

I have smoked a few, and was not too impressed. Couchlock + headache + little high. I wont dismiss all autos on my experience though.

Ministry of Cannabis seeds has 2 autos that I've been looking at, Angelmatic, and Devilmatic. But never seen any journals or positive (or even negative) reviews on them.

Back to the LEDs though, if the light was spread out to the maximum recommended footprint of 6 square feet, being the panel is 8 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches, and it was used in a 2 x 3 area, 6+ autos, or maybe 6 very small indicas could essentially fit, if you vegged for a very short time, like an sog setup.

Have you tried any decent autos? LR #2 seems to be the most stable one, with the best results so far. I've haven't smoked that kind yet though...

The Joint Doctor's Diesel Ryder is my favorite auto to grow.
I've 5 of them growing on my porch right now, 3 are flowering and 2 have been pollinated (with a male Diesel Ryder).
They were planted in 2 gallon containers of Fox Farms Oceans Forest, and have needed nothing other then water and an occasional PH'ing.
They've grown out pretty uniformly, with only a 3 inch gap between the tallest and the shortest of the bunch.
To bring it back to the threads purpose, I did start the plants indoors under LED's for the first 2 weeks.
I trust the Joint Doctor's strains for potency and reliable autoflowering genetics.

Only UFO I would go with are GLH's new 100w UFOs. They're the only company that I've seen journals of that also makes UFOs. Don't think they're listed on the website but they are available if you give Mike a ring.

Also, haven't seen it pop up in here yet cause I don't think Mike comes to this forum often, but this is what he dropped in another forum:

Followed up with: 24"-28" is for the 500w and that you can deduct 2"-4" for each model as you step down

I think so.
I do know for sure that the Joint Doctor had an issue with his original business partners years ago and their business split in 2.
The Doc went on to found Lowryder Seeds, while his partners went on to form Lowlife Seeds.
Lowryder is the innovator, Lowlife is the imitator, IMO.
