any one have an opinion about kessil LEDs
They seem to be underpowered, overpriced, and prone to defects (go back a couple of dozen pages to read all about it).
I've seen grows where they produced some bud, but much better LED lights can be had in the same price range.
Good luck.

Speaking of over priced and underpowered I don't know if this has already been discussed but it would appear that LED Wholesalers is full of shit. I bought one of their 90W UFOs to supplement my 180w hydro hut pro grow (which is cool, isn't as bright as I thought it would be but we'll see what results it brings). The LED Wholesalers light 90w, 45 x 2w diodes looks like a piece and has made the one small seedling I have under it wither. LED Wholesalers has an "F" Better Business Bureau rating and a whole slew of complaints against them - google "LED Wholesalers rip off". They get away with this crap on ebay because many people (myself included) didn't do enough research. They have a 30 day exchange warranty on their products, after which your are SOL. Anyone else have experience with them? If it wasn't already out there, just wanted to spread the word. I highly doubt the lights use bridgelux diodes as advertised. Probably Chinese POS.

Address a couple of the above posts. First chinese panels. On Ebay it is a Turkey shoot. Some are very good but most are not up to specs or worse kill plants. The killer panels probably do so by emitting way too much UV.

Next subject is the Kessils. No question they are overpriced and had some QC issues. Results? Very impressive if you use the correct number of lights for the area covered. Have only tried the 150 not the 350

I've seen comparative grows with solid staight and have to say they did not perform well, they look cool but do not do as well as LEDGirls products.
If by LEDgirl you mean Cammie's Hydro Grow Penetrator I have to say her light has been surprising me lately. It was one of my first purchases and now I have HSS, stealth, isis, kessil and recently noticed that the production under my 126w penetrator is far exceeding the production under any other areas. To anyone who is thinking of going Kessil, trust me I have five h150's that are JUNK. Nothing there but supplemental lighting. For a while I was regretting my HGL penetrator purchase but after what I have seen in the last few weeks I think I may be calling LED girl any day. Something about her light is doing it.

I wouldn't buy anymore Kessil's. There are so many better LEDs with better warranties, that have better results at a lower cost. Now I only use my kessils for clones and week 1-3 of veg. The purple and magentas don't flower to my liking.

IMO the kessils fall into the opinion of this point i just posted this in my thread of current grow and wanted to share:

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/431665-13-girls-have-my-tent-8.html

I have been getting a lot of messages about the grow bars. I will have more information and a website developed soon to share! Until then the most common thing I have been explaining witht hese grow bars compared to the common LED "panel" is how you can actually use 200 watts to cover a 5x5 area...other LED panels would need probably close to 1000watts of actual power draw for GOOD coverage on a 5x5 area.

IN MY OPINION! LED "panels" with 1,3,5 watt standard chips have a coverage limited to their design dimensions. LED companies say their panels can fill a 4x4 but grab a light meter and you will see the truth...just think of the light itself in a LED panel once you reach the perimeter of the LED pattern...any other light is decent at best. Remember LEDs are directional! Point is if the panel is 21"x36" and says it covers 4x4, the answer is yes it will light up a 4x4 area however 21"x36" is pretty much your optimal coverage, travel outside that and your effectiveness fades very fast. These grow bars however use a different type of LED chip and reflector on the unit, its the design that wins. Panels and single diodes are a limited technology in LEDs...

The blackstars are great dont get me wrong but Im using 560 watts to cover a 3x3 area in the 4x4 tent. (Remember the blackstar 500's draw 280watts each), In the grow bar tent I'm using 200 watts to cover a 5x5. The HSS180 that draws 110 watts actually is supplemental at best....(each grow bar draws 102 watts).

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/431665-13-girls-have-my-tent-8.html

2 blackstar 500's on 4 plants in a 4x4 tent, actual draw is 560 watts total...

Looks good, but is it a fair comparison with the other(s?) LED panel in there with the 200w?*not sure what it is. I will be following that company for sure though, impressive I think (wondering what 2 in a 4x4 would do at 25w per square foot).

here are some pics of my 11 or 12 days of 12/12 395w (252x3w diodes + (6 x3w fans)) LED unfortunately one of my feminized seeds turned out to be a boy (no girl parts except during preflower...) so I had to take it out, now there are only 3 nirvana ice in .8 gallon air pots. Darn male was actually the most impressive plant in size. I did LST on each, trying to make the main stem go along one line, and making room for new tops by tucking all the energy leaves to the outside, also tied some tops to make room for others (not to much though, maybe 3 ties at a time on each plant). Next time I am going to go for 7 or 8 plants instead of 4, or 4 in 2 gallon air pots instead of .8s

are theye ufos any good i see they use 3w cree led bulbs http://calyxled.com/store/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=29781 prett cheap price tag too
I've seen certain companies that sell 'UFOs' with tech that keeps 1 dead LED from taking out a large chunk of your UFO. So if I were you I'd hunt one of those down if you have to get a UFO (i'd get a rectangular panel over a round one, its at least easier to find ones this way and the tech I mentioned). I can't remember which ones, but I swear I saw 2 companies that did round LED panels with that tech.

I have a spectra 290w led from growledhydro. I am not happy at all. First off I never received any paper work, no manual, how to maintenance, not even a bill of sale. If I were to resale the lite I wouldn't even be able to proove it was 290w.

When I got my lite I started a 12 strain grow w/ different auto's. I germed them in their pots rite under the lite at 18" away. They sprouted fine & almost rite away begain to turn white, so I move the lite up to 24" thinking they were just to close for that intense of a lite. It doesn't help so I move that lite back out & put a 400w hps in there. In 2 weeks they've recovered nicely. In the mean time I got in touch w/ the owner/mfg & he tells me that the intensity of the lite requires more nutes for the plants. This don't make sense to me being they are seedlings. So I take the hps out & put the led back in, at six weeks old they had all turned white & all but died.

After all that I put the lite away for a while & got it out in hopes it would be better for flowering. I put a super auto under this time two weeks into flower. It started to turn her leaves white as well, so I moved the lite up to 28" above the canopy & doubled up on nutes as Mike(the mfg/owner) suggested & it did help.

So the lite is 5' off the floor & 28" above the canopy. So I start 5 reg autos, germ them rite in the pot under the lite which is 4'+ from the seedlings. They never turned white but the node spaceing was so close that they never got above 1½" tall in 4 weeks. I don't like my led at all & I've talked to Mike 3x times w/ little to no help. I really want him to honor his $ back guarantee & have told him. He first toldme outa 200 of them that he's sold since march 1 I'm the only one that's complained but I've met several other on different forums that have had similar issues& have said they've talked to him.

You're the only person I've ever seen with any complaint of GLH actual product growing quality (and not something like time to respond to email). Never heard of such a problem with any LED really, my 395w GLH I was flowering seedlings at 2ft and have never had any light bleaching. I hope it works out and he honors your refund or at least exchanges the unit for a new one if its really fucked up. If you could provide links to those forum threads I'd love to read more about it, there is one other company I was leaning towards (and I'd like to see how this is handled so I know if I should switch my preference for future purchases)

PS: Yeah I didn't get any user manual paperwork either, as far as I know most LED companies don't give you any either (I'd bet Kessil does with their fancy box). But I did get a paper with proof of the sale. If mike ever gets the site updated with fresh pics, you could at least prove what wattage it was based on the number of diodes in your picture of it compared to those on the site (but yeah you shouldn't have to wait for that). I have noticed node spacing being a bit too close in the first month with my light 2ft away from seed pop plants, so I keep them under CFL until they have been popped out of the dirt for a week to avoid this issue in early veg). I can't imagine why the autos grew that little though, the plants I started from seed at 2ft from my 395w were obviously short at a month, but they were still the size of 2-3 week 400w HPS plants (and those of the same strain that had 5-7 days of CFL before going under the LED were twice that size)

Yea dude you're over powering them, like Mike said. RAISE THE LIGHT! Veg with CFL's and flower with your panel.

And are you seriously complaining your nodes were too tight?

Another thought, stop growing autos... we're all killing it with photoperiod under the same GLH panels. If you don't want your 290 I'll take it off your hands no problem! Since it "sucks" I'd like a deal though

Sorry to hear about that, hope you don't give up on led just yet because of a bad experience with one light and company. I hope the guy honors his warranty and either replaces it or refunds your money back. Please keep us updated because customer service is extremely important especially in this business. I was intrigued by the GLH spectra lights but after visiting the horrendlessly messy website and exchanging emails I decided this company isn't serious about their image and moved them down a couple of notches in my led list. As long as a handful of users are happy and fanboys keep hyping them I'm afraid those voices like yours who express dissatisfacation with them will be silenced.

I chose GLH and I don't consider myself a fanboy (as I tell people what I'd go with for less or more $) I want to hear as much about this incident as anyone so I know if I want to continue business with glh. I agree, the website has no excuse though, its been that way since last year (except for the small text update in the product pages). It can't be that hard to get a friend or pay someone to update the pictures... especially with all the panels GLH claims to sell-GLH should submit to the refund or also offer an exchange for a new one, that panel must have something wrong with it if people are using more powerful ones at 2 ft from seedlings with no bleaching or issues like that.

hydroponics hut is on my list to, nothing about their claims seems to be bullshit, and the specs of the product should grow good. I'll add them to my list along with (in no particular order) Blackstar, Isis, GLH, Magnum, and 1 or 2 others I can't recall atm
